Personally I do not think this trip is worth the price... Go see Dave and Tim at an intimate venue. I have been fortunate to go for 2 of the years really cheap and the experience is great but I think its a huge money grab and you are not even seeing the full band. If money is an issue save up and travel to more shows over the summer. Most of the people who attend end up waiting on line all day for early entry and/or to grab a poster - seems totally crazy to me when you at an all inclusive resort but to each their own I guess!

i think i spent from basically sun up to 10 minutes before the show eating drinking and being merry at the pool. cant believe that people would attend something like this and still do that but to each each their own.

It really does baffle me. I guess I understand going a little early to try and grab a poster, but do wait all day to ride the rail so Dave might see your Minarets sign is lame as hell.

But like you said: to each their own.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I'll take D&T over the current iteration of the band (apologies to Carter and SL!)

    Hey everyone,
"Worth the price" is a personal decision, nothing more. I have gone all 4 years, the last two years with a family of 5. It's pricey no doubt, but the concerts and atmosphere are amazing.
The food and drink is likely the deciding factor. If you are a non-drinker, and eat excessively healthy, it's probably hard to justify the cost.
Otherwise it's low stress (tickets, travel, parking, & food/bev all included), with great some great people/fans to hang out with for a few days in the dead of winter.

It's definitely worth the price for me.

The amount of people who waited all day was pretty small compared to the number of fans attending

With the introduction of the wristband raffle thing, it’s not like it was at the Barcelo

The moon palace is leaps and bounds better than Barcelo

This is your opinion and of course you go to a ton of shows on the tour, but I would take 3nts in Mexico over 10-12 regular shows.

I never spend the day waiting in line and go in 10 mins before.

The trip is one of a kind and I disagree that it’s a money grab. It costs a lot to put on this kind of experience in my IMO.

Hell I just spent $3k to go to Mexico without concerts and the resort wasn’t as nice as moon palace

I did my first Mexico trip in 2020. Had a great time but we decided when we got home that we probably wouldn't do it again given the price. Fast forward to today and we are waiting on an announcement and will try to make it work financially (either Phish or D&T). The experience has aged like a fine wine in my mind.

Phish is announced. 2/24-2/27 Besides stage location, and I'm sure cost is higher than last time. Any other differences anyone notice? Was grand moon always off limits to other guests? Not even sure if that's a big deal, but Grand Moon that much of an upgrade over other resorts? Do they still have pool parties/concerts at other facilities?

Last year if you weren’t staying on the Grand side, you could pay a daily fee (around $150/person, I think) to go over to the Grand and eat at those restaurants and swim in the pools, etc.

We stayed at the Grand last year and loved it. I don’t think there is a HUGE difference in the quality of the rooms at the Grand; they are a little nicer and a little bigger. From what I’ve heard the food selection is generally better, too.

The pool parties were at the Nizuc, but you could attend if you were staying at the Grand or Sunrise.

From what I saw of the Grand rooms last year, it's quite an upgrade in quality from Nuzic anyway. Overall, it's a nicer hotel and the price reflects that. I was happy where I was though.

Stage is on opposite end of resort. They're offering rooms with "partial" view of the stage at Sunrise.

We paid $5,398 for Ocean View in 2020. $5,557 for the equivalent in 2022.

6-night packages are now being offered (I believe they didn't go higher than 5 before, with the exception of buying more nights a la carte).

D&T only 3 locations (Sunrise, Grand, golf course)

Phish offered 5 locations (Sunrise, Nizuc, Grand, Golf course, Beach Palace). all sold out by the way

6 is very tempting. We thought 5 was really nice, but 6 would be something.

I'm so tempted to finally do this. Doesn't look like airfare is covered, anyone have any tips with the flights?

Also, when they say food & drink is all inclusive. How all inclusive are we talking?

in year's past, i would've said no. With only three properties available this time, I'd say you probably won't have trouble booking something, although some packages may be sold out (AKA maybe you won't get the property/package/price point you were hoping for???) I'm just speculating of course.

absolutely everything, ate at some great restaurants, booze, beer, wine. i basically sat by the pool all day eating (they have bars with food out there grilling burgers and what not) and drinking and sliding down the pool slide until the shows, greatly look forward to do it again.

I looked at prices and booked today as a matter of fact. I pulled the trigger really quickly because it was significantly cheaper than what we spent in 2020. Maybe this is the current Rona-effect on travel and prices will go down even more, but I also didn't want to risk it, wait, and then pay what we paid (or more) in 2020.

All inclusive means all inclusive for everywhere you have access to with your package. You can of course pay more a la carte for the "exclusive" areas/restaurants on the resort.

They have great food and great drinks for you all day long, at the shows, and then even late night after the shows too. Amazing quality and service all around.

I learned from previous years, once you know your dates, don’t wait to purchase flights. If you can manage, buy them early. Here in Chicago, people must often plan last minute trips to that area in February. Each way of our United flights both years have been full.

However, Southwest added Cancun to their schedule so maybe this will help.
