This was easily the biggest surprise of the whole tour announcement. Never did I think I would see the day when Irvine would get 2 nights. Plus the new venue only seats 12000. Have you been there yet? I moved before the tore down Irvine Meadows.

I was there 2 summers ago.

It's not even a new venue. It's like a temporary set up that is going on year 3 or 4. It's a SHITTY venue because it's temp.

With that said, it's good because it's small.

Was looking at pictures yesterday - such a odd set up. Makes sense it’s temp.

May consider driving up for N2 if the fiancé can get Saturday off.

Right there with you. Except replace fiancée with wife. One way on another I’ll likely do both nights.

Nice - I'd like to do both nights, but she's not going to be able to get both Fri and Sat off :/

Ironically enough, my last full band show was the final show at the Irvine Meadows in 2016 while extending out a work trip. Met up with Ben for a few pre-show, actually hah.

No idea honestly. I went there once to see Chicago and Foreigner and was pretty intoxicated by the time I showed up.

Thinking of tying in a family and friends visit to SoCal for these two shows, but would love a 3rd in the Bay Area where I’m from.

I'm considering this venue due to the two night stop. But pictures of it do not make it look very nice. In fact it looks temporary and not like a permanent amphitheater. Are those impressions wrong? SoCal is often and likely still worth the trip no matter the venue. But I did like the meadows place as the steep seating area made for great site lines.

    Wow. No responses here.

    1. There are no hotels in walking distance. Some appear close but it’s in a weird spot and you can’t easily get across some train tracks.

    2. Everyone is correct, this is a horrible venue... well sound wise. It’s awkward anything in the grandstands, and the sound goes in waves. It has a nice area to hang behind the seats, big lawn to hang out (not watch) but you can’t still at least hear in case you had to go get beverages or use the restroom.

Parking remains free, but leaving can be a nightmare. At least there is simple and ample parking.

Ride share is terrible, they have a solid area for it, but it seems to take forever to with the amount of people leaving all in one spot. The surge is usually outrageous, but it’s possible.

While I have been many times, and I live fairly close, I still can’t figure out the best method to enjoy this venue.

    3. https://amphitheaterirvine.com/ - a onlinecitytickets.com website that poses to be the venue site lists a show also on 9/13, which is WEIRD. Not sure how they would even have access to a placeholder day, but it’s worth mentioning.

They essentially put this amphitheatre together in about a month. I don't think much thought went into it, beyond, let's get this up, so we can book some acts, and start getting $$$$$ for tickets. They did not want to lose the idea of Irvine as a concert destination.

Being familiar with the acts that have passed through the past couple of years, I can honestly say that DMB is likely the biggest in terms of stature, and ability to sell tickets. I fail to see a scenario where Friday & Saturday won't be super fast sellouts. With probably a large # of people who have never attended a show there yet, and have no idea of the limitations and downsides to experiencing a concert at the venue.

What is interesting about that ticket website is there are actually lots of listings for tickets to a 3rd show on Sunday. Seems mighty strange. I know it is quite uncommon, if it's even happened before, but I don't recall where dates were added onto existing venue runs, after the initial announcement. Perhaps they are aware that Friday & Saturday will be extremely fast sellouts, so they intend to add on Sunday once that occurs. But lord, it does seem odd that So Cal would end up getting the only 3 night stand outside of the Gorge, in as long as I can recall.

oh, there is no doubt that tickets could go fast here and they could easily justify the third night. Just weird this random (found a couple others) kind of shady third party ticket seller would be privy to this and yeah... I don’t know what these “tickets” that are available are from.

I’m not 100% positive, but I don’t believe so. I have not seen anyone truly tailgating, and I wouldn’t bank on it. They used to have cops patrol the old amphitheater in Irvine, and would assume it’s the same now.

This site touches upon some worthy details to note, but they don’t cover tailgating.

I’m with you man, requested lower for both nights but got a hard charge of 395, so thinking uppers both nights.

Side note #1: With all the money Irvine has it’s a shame they don’t build another solid Amphitheatre.

Side note #2: Pre-show ants meet up in the works???

Metal bleachers, no actual individual seats.

The “bleachers” are crap, but they are indeed individual seats with backs. It’s a temporary setup and bad sound up there, but you do get a back.

This photo makes the venue looks better than it actually is, but just so you get an understanding of the set up and “bleacher” seats.
