That's one of the most parallel shifts in complete encore changes I think I've ever seen.

4/18/98 - Victory Stadium - Roanoke, VA (10 days before BTCS was released)

Song Debuts: PNP/Rapunzel, Stay, Crush, The Stone, The Last Stop, Pig, and Don't Drink the Water

    Jimi Thing opened.

According to Ants, the rarest song for the tour was Pig.

Every song was a tour debut (first show of the "tour").

    No guests or liberations.

Just for fun, here's my daughter's first show (she was 9):

7/23/21 Coastal Credit Union Music Park - Raleigh, NC

Song debuts: Walk Around the Moon
Liberations: Sweet, Hello Again and So Damn Lucky if you ask the Almanac, just Sweet if you ask Ants
Every song was a tour debut.

DMB return show from the longest gap between full band performances (510 days).

First time Grey Street has been played (on tour) without skipping a verse/chorus since 12.16.02.
First time Sweet has been played by the full band since 9.13.13, and first time with the extended outro.
First time Hello Again has been played since 9.2.18.
First time So Damn Lucky has been played by the full band since 6.22.18.

Branford Marsalis guested on Lover Lay Down and What Would You Say

During the encore break people did the usual thing and turned the flashlights on on their phones. It was a spectacular sight that night and Dave commented on how beautiful it was when they came back on stage.

Re: what was the rarest / most unique song at your first DMB show?

I only could stay for 1/2 of my 1st DMB show, since it was a weeknight, neither of us had heard DMB (we'd won tix for Big Head Todd who originally were the headliner, but DMB were quickly the main draw so they silently just switched places in the lineup). We were only going to stay for 2 songs, but they were so damn good I think we made it to 8:

    1. Seek Up ...> 12:28 3 of 17 2 of 2 2
    2. Minarets ...> 7:59 2 of 8 2 of 2 2 Tomorrow Never Knows Interpolation
    3. Dancing Nancies ...> 8:57 4 of 41 2 of 2 2
    4. Warehouse 8:16 2 of 25 2 of 2 3
    5. Lover Lay Down 5:43 1 of 5 1 of 1 8
    6. One Sweet World 5:10 2 of 9 2 of 2 3
    7. The Song That Jane Likes 4:32 2 of 8 2 of 2 2
    8. What Would You Say

So I'm guessing the most rare for that era was Lover Lay Down?

These days would it be The Song That Jane Likes as most rare of those songs?

It was only a 1 time thing that I saw, but I saw Pearl Jam at the Vic Theater in Chicago in '07 and one of their longtime roadies (but who I don't think worked for them anymore by then) came out and did Kiss's "Black Diamond" with them. It was very fun!

Glen Hansard (anyone a fan of the band The Frames? The Swell Season? See the film "Once"?) regularly brings crew members and audience members he's heard sing/play onstage for songs or finales. Very inclusive and usually whoever guests is really good!

And I was a HUGE Uncle Tupelo fan back in the day, and this probably doesn't really count but I remember one of their roadies, then going to see the very 1st Wilco shows and I was like "Oh, look, the roadie's in the band now!" I forget his name or what he plays, but that's definitely a big promotion right?

Deer Creek N2 2008 - first Too Much fake since 2000. After Crush they started into ASTB a la LT15. At the time, I didn’t even know that was a thing, having only heard studio and official live releases. I was so shocked and excited, my mind was absolutely blown. I can still remember the horn blasts and the flashing lights. Man, what an awesome memory.

7-9-2000 at Foxboro Stadium was my first. The rarest one would probably be Busted Stuff. That entire set was pretty great.

4-23-2002 The Palace of Auburn Hills

The show started with a partial #40, which according to the almanac was the first time that song had ever opened a show. I'm just now reading that STDH was cut from that set, and I still have never heard it live.

My first show was Blossom 6/21/2003. The rarest/coolest things:

    1. Dave guested with Moe. and sang a cover of The Weight.

    2. Main set had The Last Stop and The Dreaming Tree.

    3. Encore was The Maker->Two Step.

    Was 7.3.13, no tour debuts.

First time The Best of What's Around has opened a show since 8.4.07.
First time JTR has been played in the encore since 8.15.06.
First time Louisiana Bayou has been played in the encore since 8.22.08.

Was the last time Eh Hee was played full band, and in my 11 shows since I haven't seen a song off of AFTW.

At the time Lover Lay Down (only played 3 times in 2001)
Minarets (only played 17 times in 2000 - 2009), but looking back I guess hearing Angel was pretty rare even though it sucks.

My first show looking back was a rough one. Nashville 2019 at the Bridgestone Arena.

Rarest song was "Some Devil." The only tour debut was "You Might Die Trying." 10 shows later and "The Space Between" and "Some Devil" are the only songs I've yet to see again. It's also the only time I've seen "Too Much" without it being stuck within the triplets.

First show was 8/7/98 at Starwood Amp outside of Nashville.

    Bela sat in on:
Crush, PFWYG, DDTW, Stone, LIOG…. Then came back out for a set closer of Billies and Say Goodbye.

The rarity of this set included:
The only time Bela ever sat in on PFWYG and Say Goodbye. Also, this was the first full band Say Goodbye as an encore since like 94.

They had me hooked from then on…

I got Friend of The Devil (with Bela), the first complete #40 since 2008, and a Halloween double encore. I'd say I was one lucky guy that night!

Also got Cry Freedom TD, Thank You TD, Burning Down the House TD - what a night.

Let's not forget the Colonel Bogey March before Billies in the Acoustic Set. Craziness.

    First ever JTR & Raven.

Second time ever these songs were ever played: Grey Street, Bartender, Digging A Ditch & Sweet Up & Down.

    Lastly, a 2 minute #40 with lyrics.

Just wondering, has anyone here caught one of the live versions of me and her? I use to listen to it constantly, then forgot about it and have been listening to pretty regularly lately. That's one I really wish didn't end up in the defunct pile. If it did evolve into something else does anyone know what it was?

I looked it up on the Almanac, and it says it was only played once (4/6/94). Looks like it didn't evolve into anything, either.

First show was 6/16/12 (), rarest song was Gaucho ()

Everybody Wake Up was setlisted but got cut, so that would have been close.

I still feel it lead to Write a Song via Kind Intentions and the '94 soundcheck.

Probably bottom 3 setlist of my 75. That opening run kinda brutal. Didn't Know Everybody Wake Up and Crush were cut from the main set. Still need EWU to complete Stand Up.

My first show was the first night at the Gorge in 1999. I only got to go to one-night because I was on a Hot Shot crew fighting wildfires and was on 2 days leave. Angel From Montgomery sang by Boyd was mine.

But the B52 Bomber that flew low and right over the crowd is what stood out the most.
