Re: The New York Mets

Literally Fred and Jeff want Cano because of his name, so people buy tickets and merch, and are no doubt celebrating because they think they just stuck it the Yankees

If the Mets trade Noah for Realmuto, I quit this team forever.

After seeing that last night and being furious, I ended up convincing myself that there is no way that is happening. Brodie may want to make a trade involving the Yankees, but I can't see Fred wanting to.

What is with the Mets' infatuation of trading Noah? First it was a three way deal with the Yankees and Marlins, and now a three way deal with the Padres and Marlins.

In the Yanks/Marlins proposal, we were literally coming away the worst out of all three teams. Look at Andujar's numbers, then look at Realmuto's. I get they play different positions, but give me Andujar all day over Realmuto.

I'm convinced the FO believes Nimmo had a fluke season, and that Noah won't stay healthy. Brodie wants a team filled with his former clients. Dude has a huge hard-on for Realmuto, and I fear he's going to give up too much for him (one of Rosario, Nimmo, or Conforto, and + +).

Agreed, Victor Robles is really showing is prowess in the field & at the bat. Not only will he become the best defender in the league, his bat is proving to be a plus tool

the most un-Mets thing to do was to sign deGrom. Still in shock. Thor is next. Feel ok about this year. The 1B problem is too much bat? Great problem to have

I side with Michael Kay's view that it was a premature signing, but nice to know he's locked up.

Just don't like that they succumbed to the fan/media pressure to get a deal done.

Alonso in the 2 hole. A healthy Cespedes would really add a lot of protection to this line up.

They did the same thing with Cespedes. They didn't want the backlash if he wasn't signed after 2015. Nice to know that Jeff was apparently persistent on getting deGrom's deal done though. Maybe once Fred croaks Jeff will be more open to big FA signings. If this team stays healthy and gives deGrom some run support, we should be in for a great season. Need Vargas to reach the 7th more than 1 freaking time

Typical deGrom outing thus far. 1 run through 7 innings. Let's put deGrom against #2 starters and maybe he'll win 30 games.

Mets in town this week. Going to tomorrow's game to see Noah pitch. Will be the first live game I've caught him at since Cespedes' first game as a Met a few years back.

deGrom was not kind to Callaway in the post game. Said he was fine after warm up pitches, said he didn't need to come out of the game.

Callaway can't continue as manager if the Mets are serious about trying to contend this year. If they're going to keep him around, then they better start rebuilding.
