The different feels of songs

I posted this in the setlist chat, but this could make for some interesting discussion. This is how I sort or I guess compartmentalize (most of) the catalog in my head and I wonder how many feel similarly:

Crowd Goes Nuts/Can Close, Open, Mid, anywhere
Madmans Eyes, Louisiana Bayou, Hello Again, Grey Street, Bartender, So Right, Everyday, Rapunzel, Last Stop, DDTW, Stay, Halloween, Crush, Two Step, #41, Billies, Nancies, Ants, Warehouse, Watchtower
Uptempo Fun Energy
After Everything, Only Thing, Can’t Stop, TGIY, She, Cornbread, Belly Belly Nice, Rooftop, SMLAM, Why I Am, Alligator Pie, Seven, Stand Up, Everybody Wake Up, Hunger for Great Light, Save Me, Kit Kat Jam, I Did It, DOOF, Fool to Think, Too Much, DIDO, WWYS, Recently, STJL, Help Myself, Blackjack, Joyride, Kill the King, Sweet Up & Down
Slow Build/Darker Energy
Broken Things, The Riff, Time Bomb, Squirm, American Baby Intro, Smooth Rider, YMDT, Too High, What You Are, Rhyme & Reason, Minarets, Seek Up, #27, Eh Hee, Blue Water (90’s)
Dramatic, Kinda Mellow with moments of excitement
It Could Happen, Samurai Cop, Again & Again, Come On Come On, Gaucho, Drunken Soldier, Funny the Way it Is, Dive In, Captain, Big Eyed Fish, The Stone, Shotgun,
Feel Good Mellow
Walk Around the Moon, Break Free, AYWWT, Monsters, Idea of You, Black and Bluebird, Do You Remember, Come Tomorrow, Snow Outside, Spaceman, You & Me, Dreamgirl, ODH, American Baby, Dodo, So Damn Lucky, Trouble, Up & Away, Busted Stuff, You Never Know, WTWE, Angel, PNP, Pig, SMTS, LIOG, BOWA, Satellite, One Sweet World, Beach Ball, Write a Song, Bismarck, JTR, Plastic Girl
Contemplative Quiet
Ocean and Butterfly, Virginia in the Rain, Mercy, Sweet, If Only, LITHOG, Stolen Away, Grey Blue Eyes, Stay or Leave, Little Thing, Baby, Where Are You Going, Raven, Grace is Gone, Digging a Ditch, Space Between, IIHIA, Sleep to Dream Her, Mother Father, Dreaming Tree, Spoon, Say Goodbye, Cry Freedom, Proudest Monkey, Typical Situation, Lover Lay Down, PFWYG, Break For It, Crazy Easy, Dream So Real, Loving Wings, Monkey Man, People People, Sugar Will
Tiny Little Song
STTMB, SFTW, Here on Out, When I’m Weary, Belly Full, Baby Blue, Out of My Hands, Steady As We Go, Some Devil, Oh, Let You Down, #34, IBYU, Christmas Song, The Fly, Little Red Bird, #40, Blue Water (now), Butterfly, DOTHS, Deed is Done, Sister

I guess essentially it boils down to three main categories: Energy, Mellow, Quiet. Say a set has 20 songs, it will probably be well received if it has a pretty even mix of all of them, except maybe only one tiny little song. I think the boards have a problem with the set when it has an overabundance of one or two of the categories. For instance, right now, most sets have an uneven distribution of mellow compared to energetic, say like a 70%/30% split.

Any of this make sense? Any thoughts or agreements?

I feel like Pig should go in the first category

I also think Mother/Father is a darker tune

That’s a good point. I forgot to move it over to that one, although to be fair I did kinda forget how it goes.

Typical should also be in the first category, but a very cool list.

Searching for a live trac from years ago. After the bulk of the dave song the background singers add "ive got what you want x2, Ive got what you need" I don't remember what dave song it is this is the only part I can remember. Ive checked probably 30 live shows cant seem to find it. Any ideas?

The Stone would be in the Slow Build/Dark Energy category for me. That being said it could also go in the opener/closer/anywhere in the set category too.
