Nope, not an audio engineer. Just a guy who knows that when my eyes see Rashawn/Jeff playing a quiet solo to start Seek Up or Jeff playing a little flute solo on Walk Around the Moon (only a couple examples) that my ears should be able to hear them. Maybe that's in Audio Engineering 101.

I was not at the Chicago shows but I have been to many different shows at that venue and the sound is always good. On warm humid nights you can hear the mix from the museum campus and Grant park.
Also I actually am an audio engineer and I thought both nights in WPB sounded great in the shed and from the lawn, so unless all the complaints are coming from the pit, that's really a deployment issue and not a mix issue.
I do question how windy it was both nights, you can't really just stick a microphone on a flute and turn it up to 11. Has always been the case with flute and pennywhistle features.

As someone who is an, and spends time with many others, audio engineer you should 100% feel comfortable sharing what your experience was like in a crowd with the audio. The sound at a show is and should be mixed for the middle of the bell curve of the crowd (and I dont mean that as a slight). At a big outdoor rock concert venue you mix for a different audience than you would at a small 200 seat jazz club. And the DMB road crew has been highly interested and responsive to what fans are noting in the sound at shows.

As a human, its best not to engage with the person you did. Feeding trolls only makes them grow stronger.

Anyone know how long it has been taking warehouse to ship out poster package to those who purchased premier packages? I bought a premier ticket for N2 at Northerly and am really excited to get that poster up...have a spot on the wall just waiting.
