my hearing is pretty bad (runs in my family) - had a hearing test at the doctor the other month and they said that my hearing is at a level where they would typically recommended hearing aids, but because it's my "normal" that they aren't needed right now.

Yea, shitty situation but definitely not the worst. It's only one ear which is good. And you're right....there are really tiny hearing aids that I can get. Apparently Costco has great deals on them.

They are not sure. It could be genetic. it could be related to my ulcerative colitis. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound reversible.

I checked the delivery information and it was allegedly to my address. I think the FedEx dirver messed up because my gates and everything are locked so packages don't get stolen. Also, I received the email that it was delivered at 6:12 while I was at home and went out to get it at 6:37.

Of course my ring doorbell battery was dead, so I don't have any video.

Irritating that I can do everything unassisted online with Xfinity except cancel my service. Have to call or chat with a representative to do that.

Chatting is totally the way to go in these scenarios in my experience.

that's so they can try to sway you with a deal, when I worked tech support for AT&T we weren't even able to cancel someone's service, we had to transfer them to a whole other person whose whole job was to convince them otherwise

Comcast is the service this facility is using to provide cable to all the rooms. At some point between late Friday night and early Saturday morning the cable went out. The facility calls and a technician came. Told the person in charge here they don't have the part to fix the device being used and they have to order the part. They also don't have another device to switch out. So, there was no TV Saturday and no TV Sunday. Who knows when the part will come in. I have a feeling if the part isn't in early Monday, this place will be switching Cable providers. Thank god theres internet and I have my lap top.

retention talks with comcast used to be awesome. I went something like 7 straight years with free HBO, a free DVR box, and the introductory price on my package. All I had to do was complain a little bit, or mention DirectTv I'm not sure what happened but about a year ago I started getting completely stonewalled, and Ive heard that from some other people too.

Yeah, I never had lots of extras, just always tried to keep my price about the same. This past year was the first year they continued to say they couldn't do anything for me and my threats to switch to AT&T actually became serious. I even ended it with something like "even if it means losing a customer to your competitor?" And they wouldn't do anything more. So I switched and I'm actually happier with the service I have now. We at least had a dvr and a handful of basic channels before, whereas now we're internet only. But now the internet is faster and more reliable. We're just streaming everything.

Based on my TV habits, I can't do a streaming only type thing, so I either need DTV or Comcast. Yeah, you can switch and save a buck or two but are you just going to keep switching every two years?

same here. tried to threaten spectrum that I was going to be canceling (I got passed around to like 3 different people) and they were like, well sorry to see you go. they have the luxury of doing that now I guess since there's literally only one other internet option in my area, when there used to be more.

I'm fine with directv and they have always worked to lower my bill when I've threatened to leave--although they worked a lot harder before the AT&T merger, I will say

what fucking sucks is my internet service. there is literally one (1) ISP that serves my house. they bend me over every single month, and then every six months they send a letter saying that they are gonna bend me over harder in the following 6 months

Irritating when coworkers call in ‘sick’ and I have to cover their work. I know you’re not sick, you’re just lazy and a shitty coworker.

Look, I’m all for taking days off for whatever reason, but you’re an asshole when that means other people have to pick up your workload. Especially when it happens frequently.

Sorry, I just have a coworker who calls in sick last minute all the time and I end up having to do their work.

No limit on sick days where you work? Where can I apply?!?!?!

I'm taking a 'sick' day this week... we can only carry a certain number of days and it resets every quarter. Q1 ends this week, I'm carrying the max number of sick days and I have the sniffles. That said, I don't leave shit for others to do when I'm out.

I work in a school so they are generally good about giving teachers time off if they are sick. Which is a good thing. I am all for people taking sick days off, especially when it doesn’t affect other people. But some people I work with abuse the system and are just taking the piss. Usually I wouldn’t care but recently one or two coworkers have been calling in sick last minute which means I have to teach their classes on short notice. I’d love to call in hungover on a busy day as well, but I’m not a dick because someone else is going to have to deal with that.
