Re: I Know I Know but... Next Live Trax Please

I'm ordering it. Listened to Live in Europe and LT35 this week. I'm not thrilled with the release pick, but I like some 2009. I like Big Whiskey quite a bit.

Also i DONT want options to pick. Then I'll just get frustrated the one I want wasnt picked.

Out of further curiosity, did the European fan base dry up since? I've looked for one of their forums and got www.davematthewsband.it. Was that the one? They really organized a petition to get LT10 released under our noses and actually succeeded. Do they still have the numbers to do that again?

Oh boy did the fan base in the States get in an uproar over that. You can see the entire exchanges and conniptions on here in the LT10 thread. LT10 has somewhat aged well over time with people.

The page you linked is for the Italian DMB community, LT10 was heavily pushed by DMB Portugal (I believe they used to have a website, now it’s a group on Facebook). As far as I’m aware, those 2 european countries are the ones with a more active fan base, and on the whole the band never gained much traction this side of the pond.

I know LT10 doesn’t have an outstanding set list, but the crowd was absolutely on fire, and it translates very well in the recording.
I’m biased, as it was the first DMB show I ever attended, but I love that release

Dave loves Portugal. My recollection is that they purposefully scheduled Portugal as the last show of the 2019 international tour.

I have to say, it’s easy to pick out a setlist and say it should be released, but I’ve been on 2000 kick lately and have been downloading a lot of shows that look on paper but have subpar performances. Boyd is out of tune in like half of them I’ve downloaded haha. Even though I miss him, he was a liability to the band.

And people get riled up when DMB releases shows that have good performances but not dream setlists. I imagine LT55 is that way after I listen to it.

After listening to a handful of 2000 shows, 7/29/00 is a good balance of great setlist and solid performances-

I count 5 repeats; one of which is Smooth Rider which G Love guests on at 6/10/06.

Plus you have the debut shotgun, stop time WH, so right, ABI, and I actually enjoy the trainwreck of a billies.

Any idea why they quit releasing that year. The first five years of LT as a series brought a high number of 2000 shows.

I mean there’s 55 live trax releases over a period of 26 years, if all things were equal each year would have 2 releases. 2000 has 3.

I love 7/29, great show. Love how Dave adds some vocals into the Heartbeat intro. IBYU > Say Bye is sweet. Good Butch show too.

I'll start banging the drum again for multi-night releases. This is a great pick too. Four discs.

    Mine priorites remain:
    - Alpine 12
    - Spac 15
    - Gorge/Randalls full Caravan (Dave and Tim included; dont skimp on me Warehouse)

A bit short, but that’s why I think they’d be good for a double release lol. Setlists are great though, and more importantly Boyd sounds good and Dave’s voice sounds good, which were issues at times in 2000.

It's hard enough to get fans to purchase a new, unheard release; you expect a greater number to buy something again?

I think he means they should release the other night of a previously released show that was part of a 2-night stand.

    Example: LT 1 was 12/8/98. He’s saying LT 56 should be 12/7/98.

I’m not saying 56 specifically but somewhere down the line.
Also two of my four are the same.
12/21/02 is released but not 12/20/02
7/26/15 is released but not 7/25/15.

Lot of people say that 05 or 07 are the band’s worst tours, or years, but my vote goes to 09 (07 isn’t far). I can’t think of an 09 show that I ever listen to or want to listen to. 09-11 was when the band was playing their absolute heaviest and I hated it. Not a fan of 2010 or 2011 either. Funny thing is that just as they started to get tighter in 2012 Boyd started to get noticeably bad, and the muting was getting worst and worst.

Could it be 2005 is that way because it was soon after the Dave and friends drama.
