but no one from the band has said a date so if people get upset thats on them. obviously theyll release it when ready, hopefully its sooner than later but if not, people shouldnt get upset over a date that was brought up by people outside the band

Am I the only person that is ok with this album being delayed till winter 2022/ spring 2023 if there is any doubt by the band or producers that they need more time in the studio or need to actually have sessions where songs are built as a collective instead of adding horn and sax like cherries on top?

I know great albums in 2022 can be created without everyone in the studio and people in different parts of the country. However some of the bands best work came from studio sessions when the band appeared to be making the music together in the same studio.

No, I feel the same way. I also wouldn't mind another non-new-album summer tour. Part of this could simply just be me losing excitement over the thought of a new album since it has taken so long though.

For me there's really no way to know, generally tours have been better when they aren't promoting a new album but that would change if they had an album that was really strong in the live setting. My confidence of that happening is low but it's the #1 thing I think they need to have happen, they rely far too heavily on songs that are 20+ years old to have a great night.

I like album tours. It's often your only chance to hear some of the songs live.

What is a reasonable time frame from first teasing of a new product to when a fan base can rightfully become impatient? 2 years? We’re coming up on that. I agree about the April dates, but if we hear zero about a new album by time they take the stage in May and they still don’t mention shit about an album, the fan base has every right in my opinion to be a little puzzled and concerned.

I guess in general but not as a whole considering the last few tour yrs had 20-30 more shows each yr
They need a fall tour to make it match, which I see if there is a new album

I still don’t think they announce an album this late in ticket sales but if they were going to, along side a D&t date would make more sense.
Ultimately though I see a fall tour with album if it’s that close to being done

I think Modest Mouse holds that mantle. Mainly because they are very "out to sea" but also because they went 2007, 2015, 2021.

I'm a glass half full type of guy, so a few things I think mean an announcement coming soon. Hollywood Bowl on the tour, the break when they'll be around NYC, Rashawn's post, and it may just be me but it seems like DMB social media has been rather active lately, more so than normal I think, but again could just be me.

In my experience only going to live shows since 2012 my favorite tours have been non album tours like 2013, 2015, and even last year. I loved Black and Bluebird and Bismark being played in 2016 and was in awe being in Hartford 2015 for Virginia in The Rain and Death on the High Seas with Branford. So I was not happy when these songs went missing in 2018 - Present as far as play frequency.

I loved the "new" 2021 songs and really hope to see those songs all being on the album and highlighted whenever the official new album tour comes. I just hope they don't ditch the great ideas for whenever the album comes out and hope they continue to develop and improve to avoid horribly executed songs like revamped "Cant Stop", "Come Tomorrow" and "That Girl is You"
