Whenever we do any kind of outing with our girls, whether it's going out to lunch or taking a road trip to the grandparents' lake house, we tell our 2yo we're going on an adventure just to psych her up for getting out of the house. We'll also use it to encourage her to get up in the morning and get ready, like "it's Friday which means it's almost the weekend, when we can go on our adventures!". She's started saying it too.

This morning in trying to get her dressed she said "I no wanna go school. I wanna go a bencher" so freakin cute

Just gotta find something you like, not everything has to mean something when it comes to ink. In the end it’s just art and your skin is the canvas.

Sometimes you like a certain style of tattooing, sometimes you like certain subject matter, sometimes it may actually mean something. When you see something you like, it’ll click.

Just make sure you do your research and find a good artist, somebody you trust. Ask around, friends, family who have tattoos. I’ve gone to the same shop for all mine besides my first and the same artist has done my last three.

Couldn't come up with anything for a stretch in terms of songwriting but getting back on track, I love the excitement of coming up with something creative and that's probably relatable to people in all forms of creativity

Definitely agree ink doesn't have to have significant meaning. A lot of the coolest ones I've seen simply just look rad. If I go through with it I think it get like a half leg sleeve. I don't know if there is an actual term but like my quad/hamstrings. Probably a collection of the nature things I like - moths, bees, fish, fly fishing, houseplants, mushrooms, some tribute to all the time I've spent hiking/flyfishing around the Ozarks, etc. Maybe i could weave all these ideas into one coherent artwork.

On an unrelated note - I can't believe I'm graduating, starting my first adult job, moving over 400miles away, and will likely be engaged soon. Going to be a whirlwind 2 months. Lots of changes at once and suuuuper nervous/excited about it all, but things are great lately! 2014 through 2018 was a terrible, terrible period of time. Had to take an extended leave of absence from school, was really unhappy, and I didn't think there was an end in sight. Things can improve and it feels even better than before when they do.

When you have some stuff down you should post it! I like listening to people's originals.

Not really, but I will open audacity from time to time and record simple guitar riffs. Low quality recording (and playing lol) but it's nice to hear multiple parts together and bounce things off each other. It's not a bad way to kill an hour or two.

I will for sure, it's just taking a long time because A) I'm paying for everything individually B) the producer went to Bali for 5 months. I'll likely post something later on in the year.

lol Bali for 5 months what a life!

I just have audacity because it's free. It's not a very good program at all, but I am doing the simplest stuff you can. If you have a mac garageband is 1000x better and can actually make some nice sounding basic recordings if you have a nice mic. If I wanted to get even just a little more serious about it I would ditch audacity and at least get the free version of fruity loops. I'm not into it enough to buy quality recording software, but that's the route I'd go if I were

A coworker friend was on the fence about getting the vaccine. Not for any stupid reason, mostly just apathetic, like not wanting to go through the "effort" to look and go do it, etc. Also would sometimes say INBD because she already had covid. But she didn't seem against doing it, just wasn't in a rush.

Yesterday I went through the look-up process for appointments at a grocery store down the road and saw they had a full slate of appointments for today, so I sent her a screen shot and was like here ya go. And she actually signed up and went and got it today. I felt very happy to have helped her do that, even if it's just one person. Hopefully more people can do the same.
