Screen print inspired by The Dreaming Tree

Hey everyone. I know I don't post on here often but I thought some folks here might be interested in this. Artist Mark Brabant has created a screen print inspired by the song The Dreaming Tree. Check it out here....

http://hoveringobject.com/dreamingtreeORDER.html

Pretty cool print w/ glow in the dark ink. There are words in the roots of the tree but they are not the lyrics. Here's some more info from Mark...

Hi all. Thanks a lot for the advance interest in the print. Very flattering. Glad to report the finished products are back from the printer. D&L Screenprinting has done another stellar job of making my artwork look just fantastic. I’ve attempted to add an image link in this post. Hope it works. The print is 4-color (including a large amount of glow-in-the-dark ink) and measures 16” x 23” in an edition of 170. Obviously, it’s my subjective visual interpretation of ‘The Dreaming Tree’. The roots of the tree are filled with words and phrases that suggest regret, lost youth and memories of a life gone by. There are no actual lyrics used. I hope I’ve done the song justice.

I rarely like the artwork that people post on this forum, but this is a great print. I really enjoy the idea of it, and it looks very cool.

if you look really closely on the white background, you can see the outline of the tree. then around it, in a very close but just off-white color is the glow in the dark ink. the tree itself is left plain white. so when the room gets dark, all the white just turns black, and the glowing ink starts to glow, which creates the outline of the tree.

very interesting concept, although i'm not sure how well it will work. usually for glow in the dark stuff, you need as much darkness as possible to make it show as brightly as possible. so if you put it in a room where there is always a light on, like a living room, you'll see the picture, but might not really get to see the glowing part. then if you put it in a dark room, you'll see the glowing, but who sits in a pitch black room? you'll never really see it because you won't be in that room much. also, if you put it in your bedroom, then you're entire room will probably take on a green glow to it, which can make for some problems when trying to fall asleep.

i think its a really cool idea, but i'd want to see one in action before buying it, just so i know how well its going to work in certain settings.

I just got mine and it's sweeeeet. I was skeptical about how well the glow in the dark ink would work, but it works just fine.

I agree with this. I usually look at the art posted on here and think "I wouldn't want that shit hanging on my wall."

But this print is awesome. This guy needs to get more up for sale.
