I think there is a natural need in the traditional movie structure for the 3rd act to have some serious character learning or "point" to the whole adventure, and it's hard to get there in a comedy format.
I think there is truth to this sentiment, but I also think it always comes down to whether or not there is a story with characters we care about.

I think there are a lot of comedy movies that have a lot of all-time scenes that are not necessarily all-time movies. Comedies too often for me feel like a collection of skits with a thin layer of story sprinkled throughout.

Stepbrothers is a prime example for me. I think Act 1 and 2 have some top level comedy moments and lines, but it totally falls apart leading up to and through the Catalina Wine Mixer.

Speaking of Apatow, I used to love Knocked Up, I haven't seen it in a while.

The Anne Heche crash is wild, but not surprising. The homeowner was feet away from being hit while she was outside w/her dog.

    The Black Phone was okay.

Gonna watch The Burning next. Somehow never seen this slasher. It'll be #63 for the year. I'm really behind.

If so, maybe she should try a suicide attempt that doesn't endanger the fuck out of innocents.

I don't think so. Where she crashed as a T intersection. Left or right turn and she continued straight. Maybe she didn't know the area? Hopefully she finally hit her rock bottom though.

As fast as she was going, there was no way sheíd have navigated a turn either way. Clearly she needs help. Iím just glad no bystanders were hurt or killed.

its a well made movie, but i dont care for male testosterone films that Guy Ritchie has made. RocknRolla is also impossible for me to watch.

Last Night in Soho. I love most of Edgar Wright's stuff so I figured I'd enjoy it and I did. Sure, it falls apart a little towards the end but overall, I really liked it.

Bullet Train was a lot of fun. Kinda surprised by the low critic score. Enjoyed the heck out of it.

I’m watching The Rescue, the documentary about the 13 boys in Thailand who were saved from a flooded cave. Absolutely insane.

Prey was pretty good. I didn't have high hopes since disney purchased the rights to the predator but I'd recommend it. Hopefully they make more in different timelines.

Did you watch the movie? I liked it, I knew a little about the story but had no idea how they tried to get the kids out.

    Scoob! 2/10

Holy fuck is this awful. Nonstop stimuli, soundtrack drops, and terrible voice acting. The Shag and Scoob are embarrassing.

If I could go back 50 years and show the Scooby-Doo people that this is what their IP would become...what a turd
