Second listen tonight, I think that snow1868 in his comment above got exactly the main points of this show:

It's DMB in their prime and nearing the peak. This is essential DMB.

Other facts about this show:
• If this is the first Heartbeat intro (which I absolutely love) this already makes it quite a unique show, even if Roi’s improvisation is still not developed as later on during the same year (I am thinking about 11.30.1998, Philadelphia, Union Center - my favorite-, where sax is more developed and more supported by other instruments, Carter and Butch).
• This album also has a very particular Watchtower. We already said enough about the Stir It Up tease (played only 10 times in 30 years of DMB history, so, pretty rare!). But it also has an interesting violine-plucking Boyd solo (around min 7.10) actually I don’t remember others similar BT solos in Watchtower, it is quite unusual to me. And then, after Boyd, Roi starts too.
• The two nights at Meadows 98 were quite similar, in terms of setlist, few variations, but many people at that time preferred N2, not only for Stir It Up (3 days later, in Burgettstown, they would have played a much longer version of it), but also for Granny, which was never played before that night in Hartford, and was also tour debut). Of course, when I listen to Granny, I don’t get so excited anymore, since, to date, it has been played 562 times in 3078 shows (!), so quite a lot.
• From Tour Central show-review I’ve found that GraceBuckley was at that show, I would love to hear one of her great stories and behind-the-scenes.
