There’s backstory about her being a missionary and away when it came out. Totally plausible.

maybe she gets emotional at movies? who knows?

I wasn't upset when Jin etc died at the end, it felt triumphant. But I will say I was on the absolute edge of my seat when you first heard Vader breath. That was as horrific as Star Wars is capable of getting

That entire Vader scene was one of, if not the best of the IP far as I'm concerned. Just great.

hey what are some good star wars books? I never read any until recently. Was at the library with my son and saw Dark Lord: Rise of Darth Vader...looked interesting, but honestly it kind of sucks. It's more about 2 Jedi who escape order 66, with a small mix of Vader kinda figuring himself out in his new body. Was expecting a Vader-centric story but it's maybe 35% about Vader, which sucks

I wasn't as over the top like that, but I shared the same feelings as that lady did. The whole time when rogue one was being teased, they constantly said they were focusing on character development, the movie would have a different feel in order to stand aside from but within the SW universe. Totally succeeded. Triumphant is used above; great description. But that s scene with Vader, in the OT, we hear how he's the most feared man in the galaxy. That was the first scene they've ever shown to give a glimpse as to why. It was perfection. And to go from Jin to the scene, extremely well done. Top 3 of SW films, hands down

I've asked about the books before. They seem to be either really good or crap. Try searching this thread or SW7 and you might find some posts on it.

That video reminded me of how awesome Rouge One was as a movie. Seriously an amazing movie with the best ending of any of the Star Wars movies!

The Honest Trailer pointed out the Vader thing and how bad it makes his fight with Obi-Wan look now. Yeah it was 1975/76 when it was being filmed and they didn't have the resources they had even 3 years later but it does look bad when you compare it.

There are some good books out there but basically all of them are now considered to be non-canon or to have not happened. The best books take place after the original trilogy, where they were continuing the story, and Han and Leia have twins, Luke starts a Jedi academy, etc. But then Disney bought Lucasfilm and decided to make movies of what happened after the original trilogy, and they sort of just wiped out the books as a result.

They have started making new books that fit in with the new film timeline. I read one or two and they sucked. I think basically any story that matters now they are going to plan to make a movie about, so most of the new books will be side characters or really unimportant events.

But I'm happy to recommend some of the older books that are quality reads if you are ok with the fact that they won't jive with the new movies at all.

I thought Thrawn was a very good book and a great origin story for him. I've always been intrigued by his character.

yeah, but in his defense, he was just chopping down rebel scum in the blockade ship. obi wan was the first jedi, albeit an old fuck, he had probably encountered in a long time. it just is what it is. even the bespin fight with luke was pretty lame.

    can't wait for the reboots!
