The Newsroom is garbage. I watched about 5 episodes and realized it was dumb and boring.

I had never seen West Wing prior to watching Newsroom.

I really enjoy West Wing.....Im into the 3rd season now.

Didn't really care for Season 2 of The Wire. Ziggy, Vondas, The Greek.. none of those guys did anything for me. The Sobotka's were fine.

    I'd go Season 3 > 4 > 1/5 > 2

I plan on watching Season 1 again soon. Took me nearly the entire season just to figure out what everyone's names were. lol.

    Also.. from season 5...

I thought this most recent Parks and Rec episode was one of the more laugh out loud episodes they've done. Sick Ron Swanson was killing me.

Beebz, how did you feel about the whole "Fix You" montage at the end of the one Newsroom episode?

overdone, but historically accurate as NPR did jump the gun and everyone followed. Except AP. Because I was in the newsroom that day and a similar situation took place in that newsroom as was done in the show.

But of course its a tv show so it has to be overly dramatic.

Absolutely terrible song choice and completely unnecessary, but I thought the scene was well written. Which pretty much encapsulates my feelings on the entire show: there's good stuff in there buried under cloying, sappy scenes.

Season 2 is easily the weakest from The Wire. Ziggy was just obnoxious. Everyone except Nick Sobotka were just annoying. None of them, like you said, did anything for me.

Bringing this over from the movie thread, but I still want to know how someone could enjoy the concept of Hannibal as a show but not Bates Motel. Both stories have an inevitable end (unless the writers want to completely depart from the source material) and focus on the development of an iconic horror character.

I can see someone liking the writing, acting, production, development, etc. more on one than the other, but I cannot see how you could trash one's concept and not the other.

This is how brilliant I think that show was though, Ziggy drove me nuts and at first I hated any scene that he was in. However, by the end of the season my heart was breaking for Ziggy and everything he was going through. And I still thought he was irritating and obnoxious! That's how brilliant The Wire is.

The fake serial killer subplot was by far the worst of the series.

I understand that Ziggy is supposed to be unlikable. That's why I think it's so brilliant that even though I didn't like him, I still empathized with him in the end.

People can get that and still find him so annoying that it's hard to actually watch the show. That's how I felt the first time around.

Second time around was completely different. I got that he was trying, really hard, and I just felt really sorry for him.

I enjoyed S2 immensely more the second time around.

Maybe I'll come around to Season 2 when I watch the series again. That's how it was when I watched Season 6 of The Shield. Although I think third time was a charm with that one.

Just watched the first season of Parks and Rec.

Amy Poehler is unfunny and practically insufferable. Aziz, who I usually enjoy, is pretty meh in this. 'Ol Swanson, who is supposed to be the new pinnacle of one line wisdoms, has yet to make me crack more than a smile.

Feels like a dumb Office spin-off in a different setting. Going to have to be cattle prodded into watching Season 2.

I truly HATED season 2 of The Wire the first time I saw it.

Not saying you'll see what I saw on round two, but I'd definitely recommend you give it a round two, if only on your way through a rewatch of the whole series.

Watch Season 2. It stops feeling like a weak spin-off of The Office and becomes the best comedy on TV.

Yeah, most people would have told you just to start with Season 2 of Parks & Rec. The writers learn a lot. By the end of Season 2 it is one of the best comedies on television.

Yea it definitely took me a bit to get into P&R, granted I'd never really watched the American version of The Office but Leslie Knope was playing like a poor Michael Scott knockoff to me, I wasn't at all impressed. Plus I found Andy very unlikeable a lot in season 1, now I regard him as one of my favorite TV characters of all time, let alone right now.
