***Official Ants Photography Thread***

Whether you're a professional or amateur photographer, nothing is better than getting that shot that just captures the moment. Well I searched for a thread and didn't see any that worked for every walk of life.

Come on in and post your photos. Portraits, landscapes, events, friends, family, pets, historical moments, etc. The only thing I ask is that you post your own work or someone you know. If there is something that is so landmark that you must post it, please give credit to the photographer.

I am about to head out and take some night shots by the beach. I am hoping for some waves. And let it be known that I am an amateur photographer. I just love the emotion that emits from a photo.

Post away...

I'll be upgrading my setup in the spring/summer. Most of my friends are hardcore photogs. I mean, really really good. I want to see if I can get any of his stuff to share with you guys. He's just brilliant with a camera. Doesn't do anything digital, all through film. He has one where he did a setup double-exposure blending himself and his mother, and it blows me away.

I don't have anything of note by myself right now. Like I said, getting new toys in a few months, probably a good quality Canon.

    Re: Ants Photography Thread

great thread. I encourage anyone who is looking to get into photography to purchase a good SLR camera. They are expensive but worth it. Most importantly get a camera that can shoot in manual mode, meaning a camera where you control the aperture, shutter speed and ISO speed. LINK Its liberating feeling once you realize you control the photo and the camera isnt doing the thinking for you. (as any besy buy salesman will tell you, "shoot in automatic mode and your pictures will be perfect!") you are smarter than the camera!

I've posted many of my pics before but will post some new ones and favorites.

Sony cyber-shot 6.0 mega pixels, yes I did edit the colors a little bit, the colors didn't show up when I first took them so I just brought the color out. I bought this camera right before I went to Europe 2 years ago...haven't used it much since.

Alrighty...took the photos and all. I will upload and post links in a bit. It's all beach stuff. Pictures of the beach near my house at night, then some earlier pictures of the beach down on Cape Cod near Nobska lighthouse. Post in a bit.

Thanks to everyone for contributing so far.

Typical for me, after all that damn work. Well there is the album. I focused in on the bridge near the entrance to my beach. I like the eeriness it drew. The steps and the wooden bridge are other favorites of mine. As well as the orange rocks. For the day shots, I would suggest peeking at the coastal pictures. As well as a wooden dock, or what was a dock.
