there is no way Boston sports talk is that much different than anywhere else. Better personalities im sure but in the end it’s just shock jocks saying the right thing to get people to call in and sound off.

How? Because lots of people listen and take the opinions of a shock jock way too seriously? People do that everywhere to some degree.

I like listening and hearing dumb yinzers spout off but there is a short window where that is tolerable to listen to. Especially when you’re wading through 24 mins of commercials every hour.

The morning show doesn’t really take calls.

Toucher and Rich started on WBCN and stayed on when it switched to the sports hub, there show is 50% sports 50% what there BCN show was just no music

That’s better at least. 93.7 the fan here goes on 6 min breaks 4 times an hour then spends 2 mins doing updates, despite nothing changing, every time they come back on. There literally isn’t a single segment more than 10 mins at any point. Sometimes they will go on 6 min break, come back do an update then another 6 minute break. Literally can go 15 mins at a time without hearing a host speak.

Used to be a 670 the Score addict. Chicago sports talk radio is something else. The dumb dumb callers and the angry hosts were amusing. The Super Fans skit was largely accurate.

The best though was after a Bears loss, listening to Doug Buffone and Ed O'Bradovich, two old Bears from the 60s. These guys would go scorched Earth on the Bears, always an entertaining listen.

I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I listened to local sports talk radio. Bill Michaels was the guy in Wisconsin for awhile and was a fucking abomination of a host.

I’ll still tune into Dan Patrick once in awhile.

Nick Wright used to be local. He was the most entertaining I've ever heard in Houston. Haven't seen his TV stuff. Ex-Texan Seth Payne is also very good. But I stick to Chicago radio for the teams I care about.

Pretty much all of the hosts here are legit ego maniacs, its incredible to just watch how these people conduct themselves just on twitter let alone listening to their holier than thou bullshit on the air. Mark Madden can at least be entertaining with it, as much of a POS as he is. The rest of them are nobodies with a big fish in a small pond attitude. One guy I used to listen to on late nights (Colin Dunlap) was hilarious and could listen to his whole show and would seek it out, some of the best radio in general I ever heard, but as soon as he got promoted to the morning show he became the most insufferable douche in town.
