Good setlists cure many things. Again, friday night wasnt great but it was solid and i enjoyed it. And I figured theyd do so much better. And in turn, they pulled off one of the worst ive seen. Bad sets on top of the sound for me add up into one big pile of shit. If the songs are good, you can overlook certain things like the trumpet, or buddys church organ. Bad set + iffy overall sound = a mess. I do not except shows to be even june 2006 quality anymore, i got over that. But i at least expect something as good as say philly winter 2012. To tell you the truth, i dont even expect camden n2 2013 anymore. That show was probably out of this world good by accident. i left that show with my jaw on the floor. i didnt think it was possible for DMB to do that good anymore.
that was such a great show. from beginning to end. i was surprised more and more as the set went on.

Totally agree and for many, yourself included, they have become a band not worth seeing more than once or twice a year. IMO they are absolutely still worth seeing every year at least once. Do you think you would get more enjoyment from your shows if you didnt watch the sets from home every night?

    * I'm not in any way saying "if you dont like it leave" I'm asking if you think you would get more enjoyment if you didnt know what was going to happen before it happens?
After I saw the webcast on Saturday night it was clear to me that I wasn't going to go to Tampa. But that's just me. I'm 100% fine just getting shows from the vault at this point.

Only show I've been to, Bristow:

    1. Don’t Drink the Water
    2. Cant Stop
    3. Warehouse
    4. Do You Remember
    5. #41
    6. Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)
    7. You Might Die Trying
    8. Lying In the Hands of God
    9. That Girl Is You
    10. The Song That Jane Likes
    11. You and Me
    12. She
    13. Ants Marching
    14. Sister *
    15. Louisiana Bayou

The bolded is the only song I don't like. I very much like, if not love, almost every other song (don't need to hear AM live again). You nor anyone else has to, but on it's own there's little to complain about. Of course, if I get pretty much this same set at another show (plus the six or songs that were cut), I'd be a little annoyed...unless they're killing it AND depending upon those other tunes.

And here are the missing tunes from the Bristow show:

    Again and Again
    Satellite
    One Sweet World
    #27
    The Space Between
    Tripping Billies

Again I've bolded the only song I don't care for. I've heard Satellite enough and have never been a big TB fan, but AaA, OSW, and #27 would also be great to hear live. Sure, I'd love a show full of liberations and songs I've never heard live, but I don't get to make those choices.

We've got four more shows, including a SPAC weekend and were open to pretty much anything (except featuring more SU tunes). The band (Dave) is pulling from a collection of 200 or so originals and I love that vast majority of the 175+ not from ED or SU. It's more than likely that we'll enjoy the vast majority of each song.

We didn't as yutes, but the wife and I saw D&T in Dublin and both SPAC nights last year (we live in NoVa...Bristow is our "home" venue...about an hour west of where we live).

This year we're hitting Mansfield and Hartford (wife's b-day weekend) and SPAC to spac. A bit of travel, but nothing outlandish as we're doing our summer vacation in RI starting Sunday. SPAC is where we first saw DMB (as well as a bunch of other bands) and it's a special place for us and upstate NY is closer to our real home (just no jobs).

    Short answer:

    yes

I usually do Mansfield/Hartford then pick a weekend to travel...which ends up being Camden

this year just Mansfield/Hartford...between Swift, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran, Jay/Bey and DMB i have too many "expensive shows" this year

yeah my show-going consists of my local pittsburgh show, then me and my buddy go to a big venue that he hasn't been to before. 2015 was alpine, 2016 was spac, this year is gorge.

kinda seems like since we're out of the big venues and the band is winding down this might be the last year of those trips, for DMB at least. hopefully PJ next year!

I used to travel because I lived in Oklahoma and they only played two shows there during the height of my fandom, so it was always a trip to Dallas. Now I have to "travel" to go to Tampa and it's not worth it to me this year.

Yeah, I did one night of Camden and will do Holmdel. I’m hoping sets improve over the next month and I might see something new. I’m not expecting it whatsoever.

There's no way at this point in history that I'd leave my city limits for a mid-week show.

I went to OKC the last time they played there and felt like an idiot the whole drive home.

It wasn't terrible in 2016, but I'm sure I'm looking on it more fondly since Tulsa '09 was the last time I saw the band and that show was terrible.

I was pleased that I was able to stay with my brother after that god awful Tulsa show, if I would have had to shell out money for a hotel I would have been so pissed at myself.

So Mansfield and Hartford Have a very middle of the road comparable set? Nothing for the average fan to complain about to much, maybe 1 tour debut.. Thoughts? Hartfords my home venue, tonights set pretty much makes up my mind if I want to save $200 and not go tomorrow.

Mansfield has had some under the radar good sets the last 7-8 years

Yea for Tulsa we stayed with Allison's parents in Broken Arrow and they drove to/from the show; flew home for ACL the next day. That was definitely easier to stomach than the ride-o-shame after OKC.

Actually looking at the setlist for that OKC show, I would take that this year (especially if someone was on the fiddle)

Yea, thinking more and looking at the setlist, it was more the 15 repeats that made me feel silly for going. It was like we drove 6 hours each way to hear Break Free.

Drove 6 hrs to see them in ATL for their fall tour in '12. Probably bottom 2 worst sets I've seen.

That year and '05 were probably the worst years seeing them since I started in '02.

Unfortunately this is correct. I got one more show I can’t really back out of. I guess I could but it wouldn’t make much sense. I’d be ditching the 3 people I’m on the vacation with for the day. Fully expecting the show to be dog shit. Best case scenario is a few good songs I didn’t get in Camden that are in rotation show up in the middle of all the shit.

Re: Anyone else think these setlists are weak

The wife and I live in providence and decided at 7:00 to say screw it and snag a couple lawn tickets. Glad we did. Great set last night, and the band sounded really good. I’ll have to listen back but it sounds like they even slowed down Grey Street. Most I’ve enjoyed that song in years. Great energy in Mansfield as always, and the band was having a blast. Looking forward to SPAC now.

Fully expecting the show to be dog shit. Best case scenario is a few good songs I didn’t get in Camden that are in rotation show up in the middle of all the shit.
    Which show?

That's awesome, looks like nearly everyone posting who was there had a blast!
