But agree 100%, this looks so bad for him.
And Bret Baier is reporting on Fox News that this firing seems to stem from Comey's handling of the Clinton investigation back in July! Why didn't he fire him day 1?
Krauthamer is calling bullshit too.
This seems so clearly the move of a guilty man, even if he isn't!

Yeah, I noted that he was fired rather than asked to resign, even that is a breach of normal protocol for high level DC pukes - sorry, meant people.
It has every look of a guy who is trying to do an end around the justice department. Even if trump did nothing wrong at all just shitcanning the director of the FBI is a dumb move, moreso in this case since so many people think Comey handed trump the election. Politically this looks terrible for trump, legally I have no clue what the guy is or is not trying to cover up.

In many cases, yeah - it is. Especially at high levels. The initial crime may be a technical violation of the law (something you or me would be jailed for - but not the wealthy or powerful) but when they try to cover the whole thing up they compound the initial violation tenfold and it turns into a media circus - watergate, iran-contra, bill clinton and the impeachment perjury, fast and furious, hillary's servers, etc, etc.
So yeah, in many cases the cover up is worse than the initial crime because it makes people dig deeper and throw conspiracy hats around like mardi gras. The big problem is the whole shitshow is such a colossal farce it is sickening, we never actually jail the rich and powerful. They just get disgraced whereas if you or I had done something similar we'd be facing an angry prosecutor under orders to throw the book at us and ship us to gitmo on trumped up charges.
If you or I had sent hundreds of rifles to cartels in Mexico's we'd be on death row. If either of us bought a bunch of weapons from iran and sent them to some guerilla band fighting the commies we'd be in jail. If you or I had a server filled with TS and above information we'd be in jail. Makes no sense but neither does anything when it comes to fair and equal under the law - a concept we both know is nonsensical. People always whine about inequality for race or gender or money but no one ever says boo about the fact that so many politicians break the law with virtual immunity it is pathetic and every bit as much of a double standard as race, money or gender.
