Re: ~Official~ Jiffy Lube Live - Bristow, VA - 2012 thread!

Had a great time tonight! Rhyme and Reason was fantastic. Encore was pleasing. Not a show to gush over but overall I enjoyed myself a lot. More detailed reaction to come later

this tour has had a lot of you had to be there to appreciate the show comments. A lot of setlists have looked ehh on paper, but people at the shows have said after the show that it wasn't bad at all. Had a great time and things like that. Its the old saying. Cant judge a book by its cover.

i dont give a fuck who was or wasnt into the show, that setlist sucked pure & simple. when the highlight of the night is Proudest Monkey 3 songs in the show leaves allot to be desired.

I don't think anyone will disagree that the set sucked. Because it did. So I'm not gonna say "you had to be there" because we all know what every song sounded like. However, I've never been nearly as close as I was tonight, and there were at least a few highlights. So Right was fucking sweet. So was Rhyme. Whoever said the highlight was Proudest Monkey was wrong, that song's kinda boring live. And the encore was bangin. So yeah. I enjoyed myself (mostly because I was so close), and I'm glad I went.

You serious? R&R w/Law, So Right and Warehouse>Grey St encore and youre gonna make this statement.

I understand the frustration but come on now.

This set list was l-a-m-e. It's live trax XXV for 19 year olds, hands down.

Im so glad I dont leave shows disappointed anymore. Ive seen most of the songs Ive chased (Thanks to CVille and a few other phenomenal shows). Now, no matter what is played I look to enjoy the highlights of the set and try to listen more closely performance wise to other songs Im not so thrilled to hear. It lets me leave the show satisfied even if the set is lackluster. Only exception for me was Hershey 09, now that show was baaaaaaad

Dave has to stop stacking so many slow songs in the beginning of sets.

    Thank god for that!!

So I've seen Blossom and Bristow so far this year . . . Had a good time at both shows of course, but I must admit they've left me wanting a little more. And for the love of god please stop playing these tired two song combos . . . . ie monkeylite spacebread

here's to hoping for good sets at p-burg

PM>Satellite is what im sooooo tired of.

Theres some recordings of PM I just love (LT 15 for example) But over the past couple years this song has gotten so boring and un-inventive live. Played the same way every time, and knowing Satellite is coming right after just sucks. The last... i dont know 10 shows ive gone to just hoping after the first couple songs that PM doesnt show up. AT LEAST split the songs up and i dunno, put PM E1 or somewhere later in the set.

just got home for the show.

very solid. nothing amazing but a good 1 night stand. the performance was very tight and everything sounded great

hoping for a few more tunes at post gazette

EDIT: and traffic was as bad as the last time i was there. i was back up on 66 in half an hour from getting in my car.
plenty of cops along the way home..luckily i was cruising at the speed limit

that is exactly how I took it. great poster!

went to the show couple of points:

-do not invest in premium parking pass at jiffy. it still takes forever to get out, there is no way around it

-I really enjoyed myself. it's funny to see the reactions on the boards to the setlist, but it has never been so clear to me that being there really does matter. obviously the set left something to be desired on paper, but when you're there and amongst good people, it's really all that matters, because this band DELIVERS on every song. I have heard many of these songs multiple times, but they always find a way to impress me. they are so good at what they do.

    -first time in the pit

-snuck my dslr camera into the venue, got some amazing shots that I will have for a lifetime

We parked in Premium, stayed for the entire show. We were back on the highway about 15 minutes after we got to the car.

Re: ~Official~ Jiffy Lube Live - Bristow, VA - 2012 thread!

Kind of like what everyone else is saying. Not a great show, probably a little below average for me (this was my 13th) but I always have a good time and cherish every time I see these guys. Got to take my roommate for his first DMB show and he seemed to have a blast. Highlights were Jimi Thing, So Damn Lucky, So Right (awesome outro), Cornbread (I know but I like it pretty much every time) R&R, WWYS, DDTW, and the encore though I agree I think I would have liked GS then Warehouse better like people are saying but it was still great.

Lowlights were mellowish setlist and not a ton of jamming aside from Jimi Thing. Would have loved to throw Stay and Crush in there and taken out a couple of the new songs. Two is fine but four seems heavy when an album hasn't even been released. Personal lowlight was my summer tour is likely over, did Charlotte and then Bristow and didn't hear even one of Ants, Two Step, LIOG (which are probably my 3 fave live songs) and also Im still seeking my first Seek Up and Stone. Here's to a 2012 fall/winter tour and more chances!

Solid show. Nothing through the roof and no big Carter solos, but a good set from beginning to end. The video clips that were being played during some of the songs were weird/annoying, though.

The crowd was dead after sweet. Jimi helped but not too much. Most notable thing could be that this show may end up being the first ever with four songs off of the upcoming album (assuming all four are on it.)

    Did anyone say this? No.

Spacebread has only been played twice on this tour (hopefully it stays that way), even though PM>Satellite has only had 3 plays.

Just stating an opinion. Dont need to come in and get all smart-assy. Get off your high horse.

I dont like either combo right now. PM>Satellite has gotten stale as shit over the last couple years. At least if Spaceman is played theres much more of a chance that Breadz isnt coming after, as compared to PM with satellite.

Re: ~Official~ Jiffy Lube Live - Bristow, VA - 2012 thread!
