So I've heard the dates announced this morning for the MHMF, but no one has mentioned any artists as of yet, that announcement won't come until March. While I would definitely be happy if DMB played it, I would much rather get a non festival show from them.

Fuck. As much as I want this to not be true, the dates make too much sense for it to be bullshit.

here's the denver post article announcing the dates... http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_14321375
I've also been in the phish threads, and everyone is debating if DMB or Phish will be the headliner for one of the two nights. The string cheese is doing a three day run at RR's at the end of July, so im not sure if they would headline saturday at MHMF a few weeks after a 3 day run at RR's. But if phish and DMB both headline, then i might have to actually go....

Yeah... if those are the dates, the smart money is on DMB headlining for sure. It doesn't take a genius to figure out you make your way to Salt Lake City through Denver from Wichita.

I love DMB but the last thing I want to have happen is that the MHMF become known as the festival that's only important when DMB plays it.

Oh well , at least I can take you up to Red Rocks , and we can dream of what could have been . Unless we are in the front ,forget watching anything but the stage . Very bad setup . I hope this isnt true

Wow. I really didn't want DMB to be at MHMF this year, but if they actually have DMB headline one night and Phish the next, I would be happy.

exactly! I would love to see trey and dave up on stage together, not sure if that would happen if they play different nights, but if it did.....

Yep... last time, I watched them on the video screen from a lawn chair 40,000 people back. By the time DMB came on, I was exhausted from all the other fun bands.

I love the festival... hate the idea of DMB playing it again.

Red Rocks is pretty powerful anytime of the year... and no band has to be playing to have the music in your head.

well you are already 50% wrong because string cheese is doing 3 nights at red rocks in July. There is no way they would come back and do the festival.

Well the festival dates and the fact that the band will be passing through there exactly at that time seems fairly convincing we'll be seeing them at the festival...which should make me way happier than it does. Festival shows just blow.

Well, at least now we know why Chuck Morris didn't bring DMB in last summer... His "not saturate the market" really means "we only book them for my festival."

Recently moved from the northeast and will admit I was spoiled through the years with SPAC, Camden, Scranton, Bethel, ect.. Traveled to ABQ and Phoenix last year and was disapointed that the closest one this tour is West Valley. I can't help to think that a CO stop would be another sellout. Looks like a road trip for Boise and the Gorge. Better luck next tour, and at least we are able to say that.

Holy hell, I didn't think anyone would actually call. Besides if people did call, you think that chuck would actually stop bringing Dave to Colorado, really? I think he's a smarter business man than that! Plus, a few innocent phone calls from some ants, is nowhere close to the amount of calls he probably received by the conservative christian right-wings when he brought Marilyn Manson to Colorado last year.

I called... just to let him know that I was mourning the name change of the old Broomfield Event Center... whatever it was called for that one-month time period before it's new corporate moniker. When do we got to call Red Rocks Crayola Amphitheater at Red Rocks or something cool like that?

First choice this year is The Gorge. If they come to Red Rocks, I'll sell. If not and they come to MHMF, I'll pass and go to The Gorge shows (unless Phish plays than I'll go to both). I'm a native of Colorado and we badly need an outdoor venue that is both aesthetically pleasing (let's take advantage of our beautiful state), seats 20K fans and is no more than two hours from Denver. DMB would play every year if we had the right venue. Red Rocks is great and was perfect for the band in the late 90s, but it's to small!!!
