Re: FS: Marc Roberge of O.A.R. Table for 4 @ City Winery NYC 9/29 Early
MSG is a great album. I saw them at MSG once - I think the last of the 3 times they played there which was 2009. Was a good show (it was not the live album show, that was 2007). It blows my mind that they fell off like this. Last I saw them was a couple of years ago at a small venue on Long Island called the Paramount (holds 3500 and not even sure if it was filled to capacity). I wasn't really impressed, which is weird, because I don't feel like much has changed music wise from when I saw (and enjoyed) the show at MSG (i.e., they still play a lot of the same songs). I do remember, even back to that MSG show, that some of the shit they did, even for me (19 at the time), was super gimmicky, like when the Sax player randomly showed up in the mezzanine for a solo. That was the kind of shit that separated them from DMB for me.
I guess I just wonder who is at fault for the downfall. DMB, albeit more talent, is in about the same genre and they've had no where near that type of downfall.
