I just saw on Reddit that John Stockton is in an anti-vax documentary. That tracks.

as i read it, it's basically a first round pick in exchange for 10m a year in cap space over the next two years?

    Favored by Vegas? No.

The Bucks that came to play last night, though, were the Bucks that many people thought could beat a fully healthy Nets team.

So, big if obviously, but I do wonder if something clicked last night. Giannis didn't take a single three for the first time in three playoffs and seemed to limit his bad ISO possessions. A lot more bully ball, which is ideal.

That and you had Tucker yelling at Bud.

I personally think they'll come out and lay an egg in Game 7, because that'd be very Bucks, but the way they played last night they're capable of beating any team in the West.

Yeah, you're right. I had no idea what Kemba made and for some reason thought Horford made more than the mid-20s.

    Kemba is cooked.

Also, why would you want a worse defensive point guard?

schroder isn't even on the lakers to be traded anymore (unless he signed with them as a FA, in which case he wouldn't be allowed to be traded) and kuzma just signed an extension.

this is the exact opposite of what the thunder are trying to do.

classic giving up a pick for financial flexibility. i like it, but i always get squeamish losing one or the other

now Oklahoma City will flip Walker for more picks. nice piece of business

and Moses Brown is bad at basketball, but he is quite the prospect tbh. basically Robert Williams’ height twin with twice the athleticism

It's going to be interesting to see if Stevens builds a roster as Brad Stevens, the coach or Brad Stevens, the executive.

I think he had a very particular type of guy he enjoyed/was good at coaching. I think he's smart enough to realize he just needs to structure a team with the best talent that plays off each other best, but I could see it going south too.

today’s move was a little of both. part of the job is the health of the cap sheet and asset pool which was cleaned up a little by doing this trade.

on the other hand, Horford is still a good player, but Stevens and any other coach love lesser talented “glue guys” that know how to play rather than high upside but low IQ talent.

part of his job is knowing how many Daniel Theises is enough and when Robert Williams becomes a priority. i think Ainge leaned too much one way (low IQ low specialty high upside) and Stevens leaned the other way (Smart, Theis, Thompson)

Horford is a nice glue guy, now time to get some shooting and some pnr playmakers

    Battier leaves the Miami Heat

he was probably next in line to take over as the mafia boss. Riley has no plans to retire but with Wade gone, but there aren’t too many strings from the past to the future left in that organization, though i’m guessing Spoelstra could always assume the position when it’s time. and i’m sure they’re grooming Haslem for something

I think Spo takes over for Riley when the time comes and Haslem takes the coaching reigns. Riley might do that job until he dies.

    The NBA Thread

Already got butterflies (not in a good way) about the Hawks game tonight.

Before Game 5, I felt like Atlanta was heading for a repeat of the 2011 conference semis against Chicago (win game 1 on the road and then lose in 6), and now I’m just mentally preparing for a repeat of the 2014 first round against Indiana (win a game 5 on the road tied at 2-2 against the #1 seed before dropping game 6 at home and eventually the series.)

I realize that having Trae Young as the leader of your team should inspire more confidence than teams led by Joe Johnson and Paul Millsap/Al Horford, but a lifetime of Atlanta sports means I’m always looking for how disappointment can present itself in the most elaborate way possible.

yeah lol i have no idea who wins tonight. my eyes tell me Philadelphia is the better team. but when Atlanta makes shots the Sixers don’t have much offense other than transition points. it’s all up to the shooting gods i suppose, unless Embiid and Harris really show up in the halfcourt
