I think it would be awesome if they streamed the Berkley show for fans.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not speaking ill of a BD release (i want one more than I want to see the Jamaican bobsled team win) but they really do need to start doing something for the fans. Like, a WH only stream once a year maybe. Could be different venues, announce it ahead of time but after tickets on sale and it may even boost tix a little.

Forget about the whole "RLM owns DMB and Phish and Phish does this and that and releases this and streams that" argument... even aside from all of that, it's very mind boggling that DMB doesn't do more streaming or release video more often than they do. They could easily raise WH prices by $10, bringing it to $45/yr, and offer a stream to WH members. Increased "gifts" means increased membership, and even if we lowball the membership numbers at 100k that's a cool $1M extra per year, and producing a stream is far less than $1M, everything included. Not to mention they've all but done away with the WH gift and now we just get the CD (yeah, we get an extra few tracks now, but that doesn't cost anything to them anyway) and it only makes sense.

edit: OR, just keep the WH annual price the same and offer the stream a la cart style to those who want it, although I think the first option is better for all parties involved. WH gets to charge EVERYBODY, not just those who want to buy it (it's possible WH members will all watch at one person's house, so even though 3 members are viewing it only one is paying, resulting in lost revenue for Cap$haw), and WH members feel like they're getting something extra and being rewarded.

I agree - they could even charge a small $10 fee to watch and give the money to an ever changing charity. They bring awareness and give - win, win! Blaze a trail for other artists to do the same - do it successfully. I would love to see this on the first day of tour.

It would be more like a 15/20 dollar per show charge and it would go into their pockets

If they are indeed doing no openers, which allows for a 7:00 start, there's no reason not to make a Gorge release this year.

New format, and them getting on that early would include the entire sunset for big long shots. I just think that's a huge opportunity.

Why limit yourself to blue ray? I'd love to see Boyd's pecs with 3D glasses.

    I would buy a Blu-Ray for sure. Hell, I'd pre-order it!

The argument about it sitting around collecting dust after 1 watch is just silly. The same could be said for every single movie release on the market. Its just not a good argument.

I think DMB fans get good use out of their concert releases. I know I've watched Dave and Tim more than once. Seeing a DMB Blu would be awesome. And this new concert format would really be great for it I think.

Its really about time we got a Blu-Ray release. Not sure what's taken so long for another one. This year's unique show format would be perfect. Especially somewhere like The Greek.

Most day and date titles now are consistently seeing over 50% of sales on Blu-ray.
Despite being in a format war with HD DVD in the early days, Blu-ray still beat DVD in the time taken for a title to move 100,000 copies (Casino Royale beat Air Force One) and the time taken for a title to move 1,000,000 copies (The Dark Knight beat The Matrix). The latter is even more impressive when you consider that the DVD of TDK was released day and date with the Blu-ray whereas the VHS of The Matrix wasn't released until 9 weeks after the DVD's exclusive window.

Sure, many people don't own a Blu-ray, but that doesn't mean they're the majority anymore. According to the most recent DEG figures by year end 2013 there were over 72 million US households with at least one Blu-ray playback device.

the only blu-ray player I have is my PS3

really could care less about it being blu-ray or DVD, I just want more releases. I guess I would almost prefer DVD because it would be cheaper. I really dont see that much of a difference to account for the extra cost.

I want a live stream... first night of the tour should be free as a thank you to the fans (everyone is so amped) and maybe something like Berkeley as a paid stream for charity....

I wonder what the deal is - why no live streams. must be a pain in the butt.
