Where does it tell you that? I looked at the store and while I still see they have copies for sale, I didn't see anything about how many were left.

Unfortunately it's not in my holiday budget and have to pass but I'm genuinely curious how you saw that?

I know it's not that much in the grand scheme of things, compared to even other LT vinyl releases — but I don't collect a lot of live shows on vinyl. Usually when I'm buying records its old used stuff or new LPs in the $20-30 range. So, it felt like a lot. Particularly for a show I already bought digitally. That was my only hesitation.

Also looks like they're out of LT7 CDs. They are now including LT17 for free with a purchase.

Speaking of LT17 hoping we get that on vinyl soon. That Wynona is *chef's kiss*

Based on this management's past, I think there is a good possibility that the lack of "remastered for vinyl by x" printed in the liner notes is simply a typo. They're not typically diligent when it comes to checking their work. Unless somebody here knows something more.

Ah, my memory stays intact. We downsized into a much smaller home so I was selling off lots of stuff at that point and couldn't remember which item was which.

That's a good point. Doby was the first to post that they weren't remastered, and I'm hoping he can confirm if he knows / has heard one way or the other beyond just what the liner notes say.

BTBaboon - you have any insight?

No insights to dispute what Doby said, and I'm very inclined to take his word.

I imagine they have a standard jacket-back template for all credits for these LT series, as the backs of the boxes are all nearly identical sans the setlist. If the image mock-up on the sight is accurate to the physical product, and it doesn't list a "mastered for vinyl by" credit, I have to imagine that's intentional.

We have 12 variants of LT vinyl releases so far (1-5, 35; x2 for 1 color and 1 black). They've all had a "remastered for vinyl by" credit. If these don't, it isn't an accident.

TBH I'm gonna be pretty bummed out if this is the case. Or maybe there won't be much of a difference? Will have to see if there is a noticeable sound difference between these and prior live trax vinyl.

Maybe they felt the mastering was sufficient as-is and wanted to save on some cost? Especially for LT6. And the complaint with the sound on LT6 is mostly the mix, and they have not (to my knowledge) re-mixed any of the live releases to-date; whether they were remastered for vinyl (like the LTs, Red Rocks, etc) or weren't (like Luther College - which sounds wonderful, btw). I can't complain that they saved on cost (and ultimately, saved us on the price), especially because it breaks the roadblock that was in the way of continuing the LT series and getting set up for LT8 to be pressed.

I don't know if cost was the reason or not, I don't have any insight into the process on these. But it wouldn't surprise me.

Fair point. If that's the case, I'll also be pretty bummed and will likely unload my LT 7 copy. Not that it might not sound great, but for me personally, I don't think the 10x price difference over what I paid for a used CD copy will be worth it.

I hope they don't take this approach on all releases going forward. For me, the remastering was my primary interest in the vinyl releases I do have (Crash, RR, LT3, etc.)

All good points. I agree that Luther sounds great on vinyl, and kind of forgot that was not remastered for vinyl. I guess we'll just wait and see how it sounds.

I would be very surprised to only see 1k copies of LT6 (and thats a guess number right now correct? I haven't fully backread) seeing as there are 1500 LT1. And in hindsight LT1 was a dramatic underestimation in interest, all the vinyl releases since have had larger #'s.

You can still buy a sealed copy of this terrible 5LP release for ~50% of retail: https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/14494266?ev=rb

Really shitty to see all of the indie record stores that got stuck with this stock having to sell on discogs for insane discounts just to move the inventory out. The top 10+ listings are all from record stores, and all well below MSRP

I wonder if these will be translucent or opaque. DMB has a system with LT releases where odd = translucent and even = opaque. They broke it with LT35 though
