I have heard a lot of the Avett Brothers and I think they are a disgrace to bluegrass. It is annoying when someone says they like bluegrass and when i ask who they like they say the Avett Brothers. It is pathetic that the dude even attempts to play a banjo,he can't play for shit. It is pretty funny watching him strum a banjo like a guitar. I want to see him actually play a banjo the way it is intended to be played, I bet he couldn't do it. I don't see how anyone could call this bluegrass.

You don't have to be the most technically proficient musician in order to make really fucking good music. The emotion that the Avetts put into every song they do is what makes them an incredible band. They are some of the best songwriters of this generation and they are making people who would never even think about listening to bluegrass listen to bluegrass...So while I agree that they aren't the most technically skilled, they are still an incredible band and deserve some credit.

Got my Live Vol. 3 in yesterday and watched it last night. Pretty solid DVD. Nothing can capture what it's like to actually be at an Avett show but I guess this is as close as you can get.

Got my Live Vol. 3 today. Love it! I absolutely couldn't stand The Avett Bros. When I saw them open for DMB in Dallas. I gave them another chance, and now I absolutely love them.

Just went to my local Best Buy - Seems that none of the stores near me have the DVD. I found one copy of the CD but only that. Will probably order the DVD online. I love what I heard of the album so far. The Ballad of Love and Hate, the live version on this, is so damn beautiful. I think it's worth the price of the whole DVD alone.
