last year in my history class we got extra credit for watching that show...it was the teachers favorite show, and it was relevant...not a bad show either.

Most times I've watched it I've been impressed. Very good cast chemistry. Unfortunately, it's either West Wing or L&O, and I have to go with L&O on Wednesdays. I can't afford to watch two hours of TV on a school night and not feel guilty about not studying.

I got hooked on West Wing about two years ago, and have been watching it ever since. Tonight's episode was another great one... so I think we now know what they will do with Sam Seaborn/Rob Lowe at the end of the season?

I love West Wing. I watch it every week with my girlfriend, it is kind of our ritual. I am pretty sure that the first season is already released in Europe on DVD. I can't wait until they start releasing them here. I missed some of the earlier ones and really want to see them now.
Also, I had a friend who seen Martin Sheen once, and I couldn't decided which was cooler, that she stood within twenty yards of the man from one of the greatest movies ever, Apocalypse Now, or that she was that close to the President.

i never used to watch west wing, but i'm a big fan of it now. i just have one beef (sports nerd alert coming)....sorkin must be big on sports but he throws the most RANDOM references into his characters lines....like on the last episode CJ goes

"let's give him the punch that Ali never gave Foreman!"

doesn't seem like something CJ would say, and it was out of context. there have been a couple of other random sports culture references that just dont' seem to fit to, although i can't recall them off the top of my head. yeah i'm being picky but aside from that i love just about all the characters and the dynamic on the show works terrifically, that's what reels me in each week

sorkin wrote a series "sports night" (a kind of comedy centered around a 'sportscenter'-like show) that ended a year or two ago, i think. it was on for i want to say, almost three seasons? it's coming out in dvd soon if it hasn't already. if you like the west wing, the writing was just as good on sports night.

It seemed that way ,and I got the feeling that Josh may run his campaign. I love this show and I love that it is about a Democratic office, but it would be an interesting twist the scene between the two last night with the shoe shining was really good. I can't stand that weasle of a VP they have.

No shit. If Alda, as a Republican, got elected, it would give Sorkin a whole new way to write about issues, and would allow the show to continue. If Josh runs his election, that would be the second time that he has turned down the VP.

Sorkin no longer writes for the West Wing.

I agree. I think it's the actors that make the show work. They are carrying on the characters that Aaron wrote for them.

I don't see Smits as a pres. Whether or not it's gonna happen, I dunno, but he just doesn't hold a candle to Martin Sheen's POTUS.

I LOVE this show. All of my friends make fun of me and I have to watch it by myself because they call it an "old man show" but it's really one of the best shows on TV IMO. I got a little worried about it after Sorkin left, but it's getting good again... last night was awesome

I just found out they show like 8 episodes in a row on mondays on Bravo... it's a cause for concern because now I just sit around and watch them all

My parents have been into it from the beginning. They have the first 3 seasons on DVD so the wife and I watched the first two and have the 3rd, but haven't had time to watch it. Since we watched the first two, we have been following the current season. I can't wait to see what happens on the 3rd season.

I've been a fan of this show since I started watching it in the second season, but in a way, I really hope it ends after this season, to put it out of its misery. John Wells is starting to turn it into ER: DC. It's sad. All of the trademarks are there: semi-random cameos by big names (do you remember any of that in the Sorkin days?), bizarre things happening (asteroids???), etc, etc.

On the presidency issue, I think it will either be Vinick (Alda) or Hoynes (Matheson). They've mocked Bob Russell too much to make him the president, and I can't see Santos (Smits) winning, although it looks like he's gonna make things interesting.

I take back what I said earlier. It looks like Josh is going to do what Leo did with Bartlet in the beginning, and he'll wind up winning. Of course, we'll probably never learn that, because the show will end in May...

I still don't see Smits as Pres. so I am going to say I don't think so. We shall see.
