This is why we have lost a lot of insiders sharing stuff here. There was a time when people liked any info, even if it was a tease. Sometimes stuff can be shared more fully, sometimes things can’t. But stuff like this - attacking those who share info, is why we have lost a lot of good sources over the years. What some may not understand is that sometimes folks are told (as Bruce and others can verify), very explicitly what we can and cannot share.

Sometimes, I’ve been given an exact quote and said I can share it in that exact format, with that exact wording. It’s done to protect sources.

Yep, this. If you share info and it works out, cool. If you share info and it doesn’t work out, then it’s getting flamed and attacked. It’s exhausting sometimes

How is "wow that's not what I heard was coming down the line" anything more than a humblebrag about having insider knowledge? It does nothing for anyone. No one is asking for detailed information. Just don't brag about information if you cannot or will not share it. Everyone appreciates the hints and tips. What we don't appreciate it are posts like "ooh, thats not what I expected. They must have shelved the one I knew was coming."

It could be the case (and I’m not going to speak on Chad’s behalf), that the post in question was intended towards folks he may have indicated something else was coming. Easier to say that in the open than have a bunch of PMs from folks asking “what happened to X, you said that was next”

I also think that noting that a different LT was/is in the works AND another vinyl release potentially near term is not a case of “does nothing for anyone”.

I for one thank you, and the rest of the insider team, for any tidbits that can be shared. If it brings me one step closer to knowing something that I didn’t previously then I’m a happy camper.

And specifically regarding a different LT in the works that will likely have a vinyl element to it, knowing that this gem from Deer isn’t an isolated blip on the radar is very cool to know. I look forward to learning more if/when it can be shared

Yeah, don’t take as me hating. Especially towards baboon and Chad. They’re awesome

I just don’t get the need to dangle it out there that you have insider info. Means nothing

Do we have a consensus on how Boyd sounded in this show? Not gonna drop money for a vinyl if he sounds like a first year violin student.

Since this leapfrogged something else, and it’s been stated that this wasn’t what was said to be next (LT, vinyl, and/or in general) I’m curious to know.. is what got leapfrogged a LT/vinyl same as this or are we to be looking at two completely unrelated things? If no answer is possible I’m cool with that. Just something that popped in my head.

He's a little shaky, but generally okay. I mentioned earlier that's he's flat on Grey Street; he's fine on The Stone; threatens to go off the rails on #41 and LIOG, but basically holds it together; and I think his Raven solo is great.

Of course, that's all from the tape. Who knows if/how they sweeten him for the LT.

Wait a second... I thought the plan with Live Trax 34 (6/24/99) was that they wanted to release a 2000 Deer Creek show, but Boyd wasn't good enough so they picked a show from the year before.

    This complicates that theory/rumor.

It appears he's good enough for one show, but maybe not all three.

That makes sense. And I'm guessing they held onto this as a fallback option just in case, considering LT58 isn't what some were expecting.

And honestly listening back, Boyd doesn't sound that bad N3. That LIOG is better than this one I think. But they had the technical difficulties during SUAD.

I'm not sure what people were expecting, but with a vinyl option, this has been in the works for a while.

Seemed to me like people were expecting a different vinyl to be released, not necessarily a different new Live Trax on vinyl.

Maybe another older Live Trax or general live release (Listener Supported?), or something completely new

I cannot wait for this release and think management hit an absolute home run with putting this out on vinyl!

Thanks to all who post hints (however big or small)- Just know that you all are very appreciated by a lot of folks on these boards!

Can't wait for more hints on what that next vinyl release will be

I can’t speak for what others had heard, and can only speak to the vinyl side, but what I had initially heard (like, right after LT 6 and 7 dropped) was that the next vinyl release was *NOT* a LT release.

So I think Chad implied that there was a different LT he heard was coming (not necessarily with vinyl) and that there was a different vinyl release coming (not necessarily with LT).

Probably won’t know until they are shipped. I’ve asked but haven’t gotten an answer. I assume Scott Hull cut lacquers again, but while he mastered LT 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 35 for vinyl; LT 6 & 7 were not mastered specifically for vinyl.

Given the similarly low price point, it may be that LT58 is similar to LT6/7, but I really can’t say until we see the liner notes.

This is a great question. They gave us RR95 and Luther and then kinda stopped with the retail releases on vinyl. I would expect that to change. All of these deserve a vinyl release.

Given the similarly low price point, it may be that LT58 is similar to LT6/7, but I really can’t say until we see the liner notes.
Cool, thanks for at least trying to find out. I figured the same, but went ahead and ordered anyway, just in case it is mastered for vinyl. I ordered LT 7 last year the day it dropped and ended up selling since it wasn't mastered for vinyl.

Was LT 35 a RSD release? Or was it supposed to be for RSD but was delayed so they just sold through the online DMB online store? That kinda rings a bell. I wonder if mgmt ponied up the $ for a separate mastering because they were for RSD and could charge more? Who knows.

It was intended to be an RSD release and was delayed; wound up as an “indie exclusive” on color and then on the Warehouse/DMB store in black.

I thought the 25th anniversary show was going to be the next vinyl?

Still about 950 of these available, I wonder how many were pressed.
