Wow - glad this thread is up! We're planning to make the treck out from Pittsburgh this year. Hope to get to become a member of Toupstown over at Wildhorse. I am beyond excited for Gorge. Is it too early to make reservations

Actually no. You could absolutely check out their website and email Scott. Don't forget to mention that you're going to be with The Mayor, and he'll take care of you since the Mayor should have an assistant to remind him to respond to emails and such.

I was joking, but I may actually book stuff (campground/flights) soon so it is off my mind. I like to be prepared

We would LOVE to be able to do Vegas... unfortunately we don't have the cash flow to do both.

Gorge >> Vegas

We will be at C'ville in the spring though!

PS - are you the same Stephanie who had the blow-up monkey at Alpine last year? We met you there (my bf Jason and I) - we signed the monkey and got pics with him before he sprung a leak.

I wish I could do C'ville, but it's just to far away. Birmingham is not only drivable for me, but it's also on 4/20.

Why yes I am. Sorry, but I have to admit that I don't remember much of the parking lot N1. I had many margaritas before we left the hotel, and never should have even had that first beer. But, there will be a monkey in Vegas!!



P.S. The monkey sprung a leak right out of the box. I have really sad pictures of three drunk girls in a hotel room with a deflated monkey.

It's too early to say whether or not we'll make it there this year, but I think it's safe to say that if it's doable, we'll be there!

Hey guys awesome that this thread started up...my friends and I are going to be making our first trip up to the Gorge this summer because well..its the Gorge why the hell not..anyway I need some help as far as what reservations or arrangements to make first and what are the most important things to do/bring to make the trip a success...anyway what I'm trying to say is as a first time Gorge attendee any suggestions you guys have as far as how things work up there and what I should start to look into sooner than later would be alot of help..thanks again and looking forward to seeing all of you guys up there

I probably won't be able to make it out this year as much as I'd love to. If it really is Labor Day then there's no way I'll have any vacation by then to be able to take off. Starting up at the post college job in late July - early August means no time off to go see DMB until next summer. I'll probably still be able to squeeze in Alpine and maybe another weekend midwest show though.

The Gorge is amazing and well worth the trip for anyone on the fence about it.

Yeah I used to live in Miami but I moved about 100 miles north to Stuart...both of my parents went to the U so we've got close ties to that program...it'll be interesting for sure..I have faith in Randy though, he's pretty level headed and knows whats best for the program

My dad went there, and I did as well... so I'm a pretty die-hard Cane as well.. There's someone else in the Gorge crew who lives in AZ and is a 'Cane fan as well...

I assumed you were feeling pretty good that day - you were pretty torn up about the monkey. We joked that he was the "proudest monkey" - and sure enough we got the song that day. Anywho - I will look forward to re-meeting you at Gorge

I think that the Monkey has something to do with it, because I've gotten it both times I've been to SPAC with it. Maybe I'll get it in Vegas. I do plan to caryy one around the entire time I'm there. I should probably call to see if he's allowed at the tables.

Whats up guys. I think i'm gonna finally be making my first gorge trip this summer. Unfortunately the way it looks i'm going to have to fly/hotel, as opposed to drive/camp. What's tailgating like at the gorge? I know basically everyone camps, does that leave anyone left for the lots?

The lots are a ghost town. You can park and then walk over to the campground and mingle and party if you want, i'd suggest that if you plan on not camping.

Thats about what i expected. I really want to camp, too.

Has anyone managed to fly/camp? I guess, if you really skimped, you could fit most of your camping essentials into 1-2 extra bags. Then wait to get food/beer/ect in Washington.

People do it all the time. You could pack light and pack your gear or find someone to borrow a tent from. Over the course of the year plenty of people will be putting together vans and such out of Seattle too.
