I'm just saying 80+% of the venue doesn't give a crap about the rating system. I originally quoted someone saying these boards need Prozac. It's funny how unhappy the majority of fans on Ants are unhappy and keep going to shows. I'm glad you can you are capable of getting to a + number.

If I was scoring every show that way, sure, I would stop going. In the last ten years, of the shows I've seen, I've only scored two of them in negative territory. And both of those were last year, lol.

That is an acceptable number to me. It means I'm hearing more stuff that I want to hear than I don't want to hear by a decent margin most of the time.
I'm also picky about where I see shows, and have been for about 10 years or so. Texas, WPB, Gorge, Colorado, San Francisco area. That's about it, other than a one-off to Oklahoma City that I got talked into.

I've been a lurker on various dmb boards since I became a fan in the late 90s. What is hilarious to me is how this dynamic has ALWAYS existed. The only thing that's changed is the songs people gripe about. Back in the early 2000s people moaned and griped about Crash being played over and over. I believe Too Much got the same treatment. After that it was the popular BTCS songs that got crapped on. Then, believe it or not, people griped about the song busted stuff. Always people saying that they wanted the sets "the way they used to be." But now, all these songs are loved and people want them played more.

So the discussions here are nothing new. Now, I won't deny that in general the newer songs don't have the same quality as the older. But they aren't that far off. At this point, we can either have variety (which everyone says they want), or "classic" dmb sets, but not both.

I'm frankly amazed that the band is still playing with as much energy as they do. Yes, they create more breaks in sets with easier songs because they aren't 25 anymore. In general people underestimate how grueling playing these shows is. God knows if i have to travel for work more than twice in a month I get grumpy and tired and lazy. This band just keeps going, and they sure as he'll don't need the money.

The sets are fine, imo.

Two questions. 1. Is there always a soundcheck before a show, or no? Sometimes I see it listed or people post what they hear. But not always.
2. If SPAC has/had a soundcheck today- any word on what was played? Obviously trying to make that last minute setlist game selection... :-)

I feel like having the main venue page pulled up makes it a little easier to pick. It shows the entire history of every song played at that venue, it makes it a little easier to visualize what songs were skipped last year or the past couple years.
