Washington, D.C. Something in the Water 2022

Dave Matthews Band are on the bill. Pretty stacked lineup too. Just moved down here so I'm thinking it's a no brainer for me

We're in NoVa, but are supposed to be out of town during this time. Wish we could go, bu tit would just be to see DMB and Thundercat. I'll be even more bummed if the Black Pumas get added to the bill.

    Should be lots of fun.

We were just at VA Beach this last weekend and I was thinking about how I hadn't heard about Something In the Water yet, meant to look it up...

This bill is not for me.

Except for Ashanti and Ja Rule.

I guess they made an exception to the 90/90 rule, since they're at JLL on June 11th...?

I would assume this was booked well after DMB booked the summer tour which is why the usual radius clause isn't applicable here like 2019.

Tickets are too pricey for me considering how few of these acts I wanna see, which is too bad since I can be down to Independence Ave in a half hour.

I imagine they'll do single day tickets later.

Still think I'm going to pass on this.

I've already got a stacked DMB summer. I really have no interest in the rest of the acts, I don't like the idea of General Admission, and I assume the festival set won't have anything crazy that I haven't seen live a bunch of times already. BUT it is less than an hour from home, and it is DMB, so I'm probably going to go, because like most of you, I'm an addict.

I would guesss there's going to be somewhere between 2,000-4,000 people at this show.

Not even on the main stage, up against a few big rappers, no single day tickets. I was originally extending my trip to DC for this but wow, tough set time, only 1 hour 15 minutes too.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a hidden gem in the set though..

I actually got scheduled to work a WNBA Game in DC at 2pm... Gonna be hard to leave there arounds 6:30/45 and not try to see this show if it's only a few miles away... Definitely can't pay the $300 though, that's for sure.

Hoping once each day passes, they add 2-Day and then a 1-Day pass for the remaining days. Can't image they wouldn't take $99-125 on Sunday for people wanting to come in a for a day.

We ended up getting tickets unexpectedly from a friend that couldn't go anymore. Will definitely be seeing DMB on Sunday, of course. We caught Anderson .Paak tonight who rocked it, and planning to see Jon Batiste tomorrow.

4,000 is definitely a low estimate, it was packed today... i would guess closer to 3x that amount.

any other Ants going this weekend? should i look for the Ants flag parked along Constitution ave?

I am going to try and get a cheaper ticket tomorrow and go. Hopefully people that went 1-2 days. The problem is the bracelets, not an electronic ticket.

Anyone else thinking the same as me?

I was thinking the same thing but I’m not sure if I feel like driving down there empty handed.

I am already in DC and could extend my hotel of stay with family in Frederick. Gonna try in the morning and decide from there.

They only have a 75 minute set time, so not a typical festival closer set

Nice! So not a short 3-4 song set. I’m sure it will be a standard set, but just wanted to make sure I didn’t wait around all day to see only a few tunes. Hope they stream their set. I fee like sometimes their sets don’t get streamed at events like this.

I’ve heard this fest has been an absolute shitshow. Apparently, they cut off people from entering the fest at around 7pm last night because it was too overcrowded in the fest already… even though they promised unlimited re-entry. People are slamming Pharrell right now on IG from what I saw lol

it was definitely super packed yesterday, way more than Friday - we went in around 3pm and the security lines took about 25 min. The venue is confined to independence ave, so you only have a street's width to pack people in, along with food/drink vendors. The worst part is no grass/shade/green space to sit, so you're on your feet all day unless you want to sit on asphalt. At some points yesterday it was hard to even squeeze through the crowd.

if i had to say something positive, the crowd has been really cool, lots of good vibes - so it at least has somewhat of a festival atmosphere if you ignore the above lol

Hoping today will be slightly less crowded - just gonna get there in time for DMB.
