Dave Matthews is not Bob Dylan

I might be the only one that hates Dylan. I have never liked the man, and when Bruce Springsteen brought Bob Dylan out onto the stage at Shea Stadium to end the 2004 tour, i chose to get up and take a shit on a nasty ass Shea stadium toilet then to listen to his shitty ass voice.

And I'll agree with that all day. I was just arguing that Dylan is a better songwriter than Dave. I don't think there is a comparison.

As far as proof of such an argument, I haven't heard about one until a recent show (Charlotte 08) where I overheard fans comparing the two.

instant fail. to tell you the truth, i honestly think dave matthews is a better song writer if you combine music and lyrics. and to me, different "lyrical styles". dylan was in a different era with different issues. he was a poet, and a decent musician. dont get me wrong dylan wrote a lot of songs that people caught onto but most of his music is better when played by other people. i know this is gibberish but i am legit pissed that this skid mark actually had the nerve to post such an ass wiping post. with all do respect.

Dave Matthews is not Bob Dylan. They are two different people. Dave Matthews is Dave Matthews and Bob Dylan is Bob Dylan. One is from the sixties, the other is from the nineties. They both write their own lyrics and music, they both sing, they both play guitar, one dances, the other one plays harmonica. It like apples and oranges. They are both good for you. Remember "an apple a day keeps the doctor away," and oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C. Why compare, why choose, why not relax, kick back and enjoy both.

There is a plethora of musicians with no talent and no direction. Dave Matthews and Bob Dylan are both in the "Best of the Best" club.

musically, i definitely agree but there's no comparing the two. you gotta give dylan props for writing it. watchtower has incredible lyrics.

i saw dylan live in 2007 and he closed the encore w/ watchtower and it was amazing. very powerful. give the old man a break he's 26 years older than dave.

It's sad that all these people claim to have such a love for Bob...however no one called you out on this? Dylan never stopped playing. Maybe those people you mentioned were playing when Bob was in his prime...but Dylan still puts on lots of shows for his age.
