Usually they run off some sort of little receiver that connects your headphones to the audio channel. Then you just have a cord running from the controller to the headset and you are able to adjust game/chat volume separately. .

The March Xbox One update, although mainly catered around friends and social issues, made a huge difference to my media experience. My home theater did not accept DTS Surround sound in, so I could not use my xbox one in surround sound. This sucked considering I use my Xbox majority of the time for watching tv, netflix, vudu, bluerays, etc...

Now with the update, Dolby Surround is supported so I have surround sound now. Plus the volume up and down interval adjuster made a huge difference.

Agreed. One of my main complaints. They had what, 10 years between 360 and One? They couldn't even bring some of the most prominent features/apps that have been striving on 360 to Xbox One? They had so much time to develop this thing. To call it the future of gaming, yet having it lack features that 360 has had for years, is, in my opinion, failure.

I feel confident it will grow and get to where it should be but yea it's frustrating that it's lacking features you've been used to for years. Also not having HBO and being the only system to not get WWE at it's launch sucks

Settings > tv & one guide > troubleshooting > audio

PS3 just got hbo go 2 days ago. It's not a failure for Microsoft. These companies are just slow at rolling these apps out. I wouldn't expect them to hold back their console because of a couple apps.

It's more than just apps. Apps are one thing and can be somewhat excused because the company itself is, at times, involved in the development.

grabbed my copy and a pair of XO7s at lunch. last pair of headphones at game stop.

FYI - check with the store before you go purchase the XO7s. Walmart didn't have them skud up, best buy was out of stock, and game stop only had 1 headset left
