I downloaded this a week or so ago, and I've listened to it at least once every day since. Really great album, there isn't a single bad song.

Love Ada. You know that the keys on that and Racing Like A Pro are played by Sufjan Stevens right? And though he isn't credited with this, the horns on Ada have to be arranged by him; they sound just like his style.

Did not know that...and really, even though I'm not a huge Sufjan fan, the keys really drew me in to those two songs. The last three tracks are so perfect, and Racing Like a Pro has those great, warm key strokes that sound so great.

Today I'm listening to Beyond by Dinosaur Jr. This is probably one of my three favorite albums of the year so far. Awesome album, I highly recommend it.

Almost Ready = Best guitar work in this decade. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but it sure feels right to say it.

I would say Pick Me Up...that song is just a flat-out rocker from the start. So many memorable riffs and a great solo to cap it off. What a fucking song!

    friendly fire - sean lennon

if you haven't already, i would suggest checking this album out! despite having been influenced considerably by his dad's music, i find this to be quite original. (not that there is anything wrong with sounding like john...i would be quite happy with it!)

the album comes with a dvd of mini-films sean produced for some of the tracks on the album that are worth watching. here is a link for them on youtube:

    http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...&search=Search

headlights is my favourite track i reckon. dead meat is a close second (there is a video for both)

No hatred whatsoever. It's good to see new people listen to such good music.

Anyway, Orgo Final tomorrow, which means lots of music to keep me busy:

    Radiohead - Kid A
    Pearl Jam - Ten
DMB - Everyday (don't hate, it's been a while since I gave it a listen)
Elliott Smith - From a Basement on the Hill

    More to come most likely.

Beyond has restored my faith in rock 'n' roll. You can't mistake a J. Mascis solo and with this album I think he actually got better, which is scary. Top five guitarist for me right now.

So I'm watching The Kids Are Alright, which is a Who documentary, or rather, a collection of concert clips and interviews culled from TV specials and the like. No band will ever be as hardcore as The Who.
