Re: Live Trax Volume 41 D&T 3/13/99

He used the Lakewood up until 99
The Martin was mainly used from 99-2007 (radio city, European tour in 07 all Martin, besides raised B)
Wasn't until like 08/09 he started using the Taylor for D&T

I think this sounds better than the DMBLive Utah release, but I thought the performances from 3.3.99 were better than these.

Just finished my first listen through. Didn't want to post until I had a chance to get through the whole thing.

First impressions: it's incredible. The sound quality is unreal. Great setlist and stellar performances. Dave is at the top of his game here and Tim is playing really well off him. Excellent Dave-speak throughout; he was clearly having fun with the crowd and in direct response to a lot of the things they were calling out between songs. Makes for a really fun listen.

I might make a second post with some of my favorite song performances, just for shiggles. Curious to backread now and see other people's standout tracks. (I didn't want to spoil any surprises for my first listen.).

Overall, homerun. So grateful to management for this one!!

My third disc, Help Myself through Ants Marching, has deep scratches on the disc itself. It skips and cuts out in certain parts of the disc, and it won't transfer to my iTunes cleanly. I've emailed the Warehouse and MusicToday, and the Warehouse has already written me back, stating:

    Hello,

We see that you cc’d support and with your Order #. Perfect. We are certain Musictoday will get back to you very soon with assistance.

    CHEERS!

    Warehouse Crew

-----Now, I wait.... because the Warehouse is 'certain MusicToday will get back to me'.

simply phenomenal. The sound is fantastic. The setlist is fantastic. I was kind of blown away with the sound when it first started playing. So pleased with it. At the moment can't stop listening to the covers on this album. And love the flow of the show in it's entirety.

only issue is (as with other live trax I have) the first time i put it in my cd player in the car it won't read the disc. If i blow on it and wipe it real quick then it does want to work? anyone have any explanation?
Again this holds true for other live trax I have not just this cd!

Not a complaint, but they did take out some of Dave's in between song banter.

They left out the part after Crash where he says that if the song Spotlight were anything other than a song, it would be a turd. Also, after Help Myself, he tells a story of being on an airplane with Monk (his old guitar tech) and smelling a horrific fart, and then goes on about how they were speculating who it was. I wish they left it in, but at least it is on the tape.

Overall, I love this LiveTrax. I think it rivals Luther College as #1 Dave and Tim release.

What a phenomenal release. Top to bottom, sound quality and performances are impeccable. One of my favorite parts is after "Warehouse" you can hear several people yell, "thank you, Dave!" And it just gives me chills because of how intimate and incredible this show is. Great job by management.

though i do think it's wrong to sell a BluRay this day and age and the video not be in HD. i def fell for it.

Finished up my 3rd complete listen tonight... I never thought I'd be able to say that a D&T release would grab me the way Luther does (I just didn't think it was possible), but I genuinely think this is right up there for me already. It's insanely great, top to bottom; stellar performances, incredible setlist, jaw dropping mix... the complete package. And it all came together in such a phenomenal way. So grateful for this one!

Just noticed where Dave flubs the lyrics in the first verse of Help Myself and goes "oh shit" lol. He barely misses a beat and jumps right back in.

I swear every time I try to download an LT release it won't work in Safari, so I have to do it in Chrome. Do it in Chrome, it crashes or fails every time, I have to email Warehouse to reset the download.

I think I've only ever used IE for musictoday downloads and it surprisingly works flawlessly. only time I use IE

    Re: Live Trax Volume 41 D&T 3/13/99

Technical question for you guys and gals....

I've had issues with my Live Trax 41, disc 3. Well, maybe not issues with the disc itself, but herein lies my problem.

I have the physical CD’s for Live Trax 41, and each time I attempt to import the tracks from CD to MP3 format in my iTunes, the Help Myself track has some skipping and cutting within the first minute of the track, namely around the part where Dave fumbles the lyrics to the song (25 to 40 second mark). I’ve played the CD on multiple CD-capable players, and the disc itself does not skip or cut at all. It’s only when I convert from CD to MP3 where the problem occurs…. Every single time.

MusicToday already sent me a replacement LT 41 which did the same thing as outline above. They won’t send me an MP3 of the Help Myself track by email since I didn’t say there was an actual issue with their manufactured disc at this point.

Does anyone know why the conversion from CD to MP3 would have skipping and cutting present in the same spots, but the disc itself, when played on multiple sources, doesn’t sound like it has any issues. Any thoughts?

It's been weeks since I ordered this and I still haven't been able to download it. Been going back and forth with musictoday on "resetting" my download which didn't work the 3 times they tried it. Today they sent me a link with my order info which appeared to work but when I opened the download manager it gave me an error.

"Oh no, something went wrong. There has been an unexpected error. Please contact customer support. The file DownloadSessionToken.dat couldn't be opened because there is no such file."

    This is beyond frustrating.

Yep, happens to me all the time. I'm having this issue with LT42, which I can't listen to now because of this. Usually takes about a week for them to reset my download.

Wow. Easily top 5 D&T shows of all time for me. Also if you can, check out the tape from the following night 3.14.99. Bob Weir and Santana have guest spots. Weir on Watchtower. Santana on Love of my Life and OG version of JTR.

Have checked out 3/14 on YouTube many times and yes definitely a great show, this LT41 is a nice slap in the face (earlier thread reference) from the first few songs I've had time for so far
