    Re: *** Texas Two-step 2023 ***

ayyye! so glad to open up Ants today and see this thread is going already! looking at concert tickets for the year, and I just can't stop thinking about trying to hit both of these Texas dates.

I saw them last year at Moody Center, and it brought me right back to when I first fell in love with their music. The time before that when I saw them out at COTA on the lawn, I walked away feeling burned out on and distant from their music, but 2022 really renewed my passion.

Tyler Childers tickets were too expensive for me this tour, especially with travel. Postal Service tickets are silly expensive too, but I'm still tempted to break the bank for that. Shania Twain is in San Antonio in October, and that one seems attainable. Willie's 90th is a dream in LA, but I doubt I can make that happen. May just have to skip ACL this year and double up on Dave.

Coming in from Georgia for the album release show. The Austin tour opener was great last year and I did Raleigh 2021 as well, so I think I'll just hit all of the summer tour openers going forward.

something really cool about the tour opener.

so glad it's been such a Texas tradition for the most part for quite some time

We must have both been out there at the same time last year! You got a connect for Luck Reunion this year? I've been unsuccessful with the Luck Draws so far this year. it's always top notch.

Postal Service tickets for the show I got were like $90ea, like half of what DMB charges. That's gonna be my travel show this year, sticking to Texas for DMB.

i've gotten really lucky and had friends offer me tickets. one of them for sure got them b/c of that alum access you're talking about. it's one of the cooler concert experiences i've had! hope y'all have a great time again!

ooowee! that's a total steal and better than i realized. by the time i was getting my act together, the dates I was eyeing were sold out and I was looking at stubhub. i probably need to look again, but i don't think they have Texas dates? i guess ACL could happen, but that seems like a worse environment for the full album playthrough, imho

Yea, I got lucky. I was eyeing Berkeley and all the days sold out, but I checked back at lunch and they had just added another date, so I was able to score for face.

Nah, no Texas dates. Since they're doing Postal Service/Death Cab combo, I wouldn't think they'd play festivals.

Death Cab will be here in Austin next month though. I'll be there.

We got a Best Western 4 miles from the venue for about $100. Our plan at the moment is to park at the "tailgate" hotel, walk to the venue and back, then drive the last bit.

We got La Quinta as a place holder. It's a little under 2 miles from the venue. Walkable, but not ideal.

recommend everyone looking at the Drury Inn for the Woodlands. I've stayed there probably half a dozen times. Excellent bang for your buck, and walkable if need be. They have a shuttle also to/from the venue.

Making our first trek to both venues. I need advice from some veterans. What seats do y’all recommend for both venues? Is lawn ok? How is the reserved seating? Need some help! Thanks in advance!

They're both just standard sheds. Reserved seats are same as any other shed. Woodlands lawn is nice.

Dallas lawn is Thunderdome. If you decide to do Dallas lawn, wear non-slip shoes and watch out for needles. If you wanna do Meth, make sure you have enough for your neighbors.

Was a port a potty obtained last year? I had to go to a trial and miss Dallas last year. I’ll get a port a potty if not (or if any were around).

A basic human right to poop or pee in shelter should be enough. Or give gate people a 20.
