They have been I agree 100%. I have noticed at certain venues here in the northeast there are fans who finally got the kids raised and go out on a date night here in Mansfield or Mohegan (Hartford in 2019) and they are reliving the glory days of Dave in the late 90s with their spouse. Ants marching or Crash is played and that demographic goes nuts.
DMB has maxed out their popularity and if the band didn't have these destination venues like SPAC, Gorge, Deer Creek, now Fiddlers the ticket sales would be much worse even if they toured every other year.
One of the big issues with Nostalgia value for DMB is they literally don't sound anything like the acoustic percussive era that they sold out stadiums in. No fiddle and since roi has past they have turned into a rock band. Sound was better balanced this year but DMB in 2021 compared to even 2006 is completely different sound live where most Nostalgia acts while having lineup changes live sound like they did 20 years ago.
