No, not that at all, just the amount of time and work you have to invest in owning a dog. Especially with the way "dog culture" is these days. When I was a kid, if you had a dog you had to make sure it had food and water, take it for a walk a couple times times a day, give it the occasional bath, and take it to the vet if it got sick. If you were going out for the night you just put some newspaper down or put the dog in it's crate and called it a night.

Now it seems to have to lavish so much time, attention, and money on your dog that it's borderline ridiculous. There is no way in hell I'd pay money to put my pet in a "doggie hotel" if I was going away for the weekend. Over the summer we were at a concert with another couple that we all paid $130 apiece for the tickets and they left less than halfway through the show because they had to "let their dog out" which is utterly insane to me.

Again, definitely not meant as a criticism or anything against dogs or people who own dogs, (I refuse to call you a "pet parent" ) if that's your thing, totally cool, just not for me at all.

Ooooooh now see... that's just a people with a dog excuse. If we're not having a good time, we just say 'yeah, gotta go... dog needs to go out'.

But yeah... clearly, for you right now... having a dog would not be ideal. And that's totally fine. It does alter your lifestyle

This is what I do, and my dog is well loved and taken great care of.

Only difference is that I don’t put newspapers down or put her in a crate. She’s fully house trained and has run of the entire house when we’re not home. A crate didn’t work for her.

Actually I don’t walk her either, she has the back yard fenced in. And we don’t give her baths either, she hates them and has sensitive skin

There's def some truth in your first paragraph but that's only because some people are nuts. You just have to ignore those people and trust that you know what's best for your dog. Believe me, I know.

Agree that the friends were using the dog as an excuse. I've been away from my dog multiple times and he's fine at home. He deosn't do well with crates, so doggie hotels aren't that much of an option. Similar to Scrocks' pets, T has pretty much always had the run of the house when I'm gone. Having a fenced in yard makes it super easy for friends to dog sit. Just keep a little food and water out, let the dog in the yard, and it's all good.

Just got a notice that just my street and just my block is getting its own parking zone. Literally makes no sense to me. And, if they're not going to do anything about "dibs" crap, then it's going to be an absolute nightmare.

Thing is, I don't even park on the street. My cars are in the garage. My tenants on the other hand, have to park on the street and have a toddler.

Bro you will probably wind up getting home 5 mins or so later then you would normally get home If the person was traveling the speed limit. its not that big of a deal.
whats more annoying is the people that think they are Jeff Gordon or some shit and are speeding.They don't realize how dangerous speeding can be. Im not talking about someone going like 5 to 10 MPH over. Im talking about the mugs weaving in and out of traffic higher speeds only winding up stopped at the same damn light everyone else is stopped at.

I don't know about other cars in front of them but I've had many occasions where people are driving 10mph or more under the limit. When I'm able to safely pass, I do and notice the driver has a cell phone firmly attached to their ear or they keep looking down into their lap or off to the passenger side seat. I guess they're most likely looking at their cell phone and texting.

I like the idea of dog parks and have taken my dog many times, but she's weird. She's very friendly and loves to run around with other dogs, but I think she only likes doing so on her home turf. Every time we go to a dog park, she just kind of hovers near us and won't venture out and play. Sometimes if a dog or group of dogs comes close, she'll kind of join in, but then she always circles back. It's almost like she'll start running with a dog but then be like 'hey come play over here near my parents!' So she's no fun and doesn't get any exercise unless we walk around and she follows us -- and we could just take a walk at home if that's the case.

People instructing others on LinkedIn how to "sell yourself" and how to "do more business ON linkedin" have turned it into a cesspool.

Another LinkedIn irritant:

People making their subheading something stupid and witty. So instead of Vice President of Marketing, it says they are "Optimizer of Problem Solutions for Clients Near and Wide" that doesnt give a fucking clue even what industry they are in.
