Just reserved our car, $245 from rentalcar.com for Thrus - Mon. I'll take it for now and keep searching for better deals.

I did, through TM today. I was super worried about those selling out but I guess we got lucky. When I logged in to buy tickets, I was 187th in the queue. My friend was at 2000+ for almost 8 min and we logged in at the same time. Go figure.

Just curious, but what all is there to do around The Gorge? My wife and I are staying up near Crescent Bar and will be driving in for the shows. Just didn't know if there was anything fun to do in the area during the day.

We drive through the mountains and take our time on Friday then go to the show. Then we do Leavenworth one day (amazingly cool German town) and do Cave B winery the other day.

Definitely check out Leavenworth one day. It’s a cool bavarian style town. I recommend getting a brat and beer (and pretzel) at the Munchen Haus. If the line is crazy (usually is), the place directly across from there is just as good.

They’ve got wine tasting, mini golf, white water rafting, hiking, and cool shops. Can easily spend a day there.

has anyone ever sat in row 1 of any of the 2nd level sections before? wondering since the seats aren't elevated like other amphitheaters if you would constantly have to worry about people walking in front of you during the show.

Tons of walking traffic going back/forth...that's the problem, not the slope

    Update for Oasis:

Pop-up 10x10' shelters, 120 and 50 gallon coolers are available, but gotta reserve it to guarantee it - check your emails, travel a bit lighter

Do some of you guys have Oasis camping? How did you get it? Do you get to pick your spot or are you assigned before you get there?

What was the total cost? I heard $1,500 or so.. is that accurate? Any info is appreciated!

That's some quick email! Yeah, they just sent a second round to try to get more folks to rent stuff...

They will charge a $120 replacement fee, so draw whatever conclusions you will (There's quite a spectrum of quality for these shelters, so I'll likely just bring my own $25 one with all the dirt stains on it, heh)

$1550 for the queens, and this year you get to choose the spot (was first check-in, first served previous years without custom arrangement) - I think they were all same ballpark if not same price for this weekend... Site: http://www.gorgecamping.com/gorge-oasis/

Thanks Tommy. I was hoping to score an Oasis pass this year but they were sold out well before the first Citi pre-sale even.

Warehouse lawn just allows you to pick up a wristband on the way in that gets you into a net-fence'd-off area that's in a nice spot. After the opening acts putter out and just before DMB goes on, they'll remove the fencing and everyone is allowed in. Pack 'em in tight when it drops, or others will pack in the space between!

Moreover, the benefit is geared more towards those that get in later and they'll still get a decent lawn spot. Other than that, it's nice and spacey - but only up until the main show starts and then it's no different from anywhere else. If you're in that early, go for a terraced lawn seat and ignore the wristband!

There's really few bad spots on the lawn - just make sure you gather your friends about you.

I'd only add that while the fence is still up only those with wrist bands are allowed into the area and it can be tough to hold spots if you have decent sized group.

In my experience, if you get inside before the opener ends, you should be able to find a decent spot on the lawn. There really is no bad spot in my opinion. The only issue would be sound if you opt to sit very far back.

Depending on where you sit on the lawn it can be very difficult to find your group once it gets dark out - we've lost many people over the first several years due to them simply giving up on finding their way back. Granted, substances were involved.
