NICE! This is my 4th year seeing DMB at SPAC, and Ive never actually been in the town or whatever. Since you live in Saratoga, maybe you could hook us up with some info. Do you know of any open mics that might be going on at any of the bars those nights?

I'll look into open mics. Not really sure what's goin on that far ahead. But there's always something! Our favorite places to hang out are E. O'Dweyer's - there's this tiny door to enter. It looks like a small bar. But upstairs is this really old, high ceiling room. There's another bar up there & they always have great bands.

Also, Peabody's is a good bar, it's across from Ben & Jerry's. They have good bands in the summer too.

City Tavern is good. There's like 6 or 7 floors, differnet music on each level. Plus a roof top bar. It's way too crowded in there for me, but hey if you like that, it's the place to be.

http://www.saratogadowntown.com/sara...ba-members.asp will give you alot of info, although there's not category for BARS so most of the good bars aren't listed.

I don't remember seeing a WH lawn section last year, and I was one of the first people in the door. So I was there plenty early. I know what the fenced area looks like cause I was in it at Hartford last year. Was there one at SPAC last year?

I actually remember the WH lawn was in the middle of the regular lawn, so that there were people standing in front of it. It looked better to be in the first few rows of the normal lawn.

I was on the lawn both nights, once on the right and once on the left. If you get there early and are up against the fence, it is a pretty great view from there.

If I can get tickets, this will be my first DMB show. I already missed out on Green Day, which was a disappointment. I wanna see DMB a lot more though.

Night 1 last year my friends had front row center on the lawn and they couldnt see anything really besides the heads of the band. Night 2 they moved back about 10-15 yards and they were fine.

I'm going to both DMB and Green Day in the next couple of months! It's going to be a great concert season!!! (Sorry to rub it in...)

I've been to SPAC about 8 or 9 times, and no matter where I've sat, I can always see the band or at least the screens (and I sat way in the back when at a Counting Crows concert)

Good thing about SPAC is if you need to take a piss break - you don't lose any sound at all. The sound of the band from the washrooms is just as clear as if you're at the front of the lawn.
I don't mind having to use the facilities at SPAC. There is certainly a lot of alcohol consumed during the days jamming/tailgating festivities. The thing to remember is to go out one of the far sides if you're coming from the seats and make 20 seconds of freindly banter with the security so they'll let you back in regardless of where your seats are.

I was so drunk both nights in '02 that I didn't know they had actual restrooms. The next year I got in there, saw the bathrooms and kicked myself for waiting on port-a-potty lines the previous year(damn those things are disgusting).

yeah, youre probably right, the hartford dates are placed a little weird. usually mansfield, meadows, spac, and camden are within two weeks of each other, but this summer the band bounces back and forth from CT to PA, VA, PA, NC before hitting the northeast(hopefully) . anywho, ill see whomever at medows, spac, and mansfield (in whatever order necessary).
