Re: ***Official Charlotte 2019 Thread***

didn’t realize they had this queue stuff, got in line at 10:00 with 2,000+ ahead of me, 10:20ish before i actually got in.

was able to grab a single Section 2 Row O though. i’ll be looking to trade it for a pit ticket most likely if anyone is interested.

My wife is the same height, she demands PIT tix..hah.
We’ve done PIT 3 or 4 times in CLT, and it’s always been a decent experience.

I'll be looking for 2 decent lowers or pits as well. pulled 2 tix in Section 1, but the seats were all the way on the end and the sound sucks from that area so I decided to release them.

From my experience, the pit in charlotte is great. It has never been overcrowded like most venues, so you can just hang back by the rail with plenty of space and a great view.

Still haven’t bought tickets...looking at TM today and am just so pissed at how many tickets are already on there for resale.

TM does a great job of keeping legit buyers out while the scalpers still manage to get theirs... btw, Red is resale.

Pulled 3 uppers (that's what I requested) from Warehouse. Section 8, Row U. Not bad from what it looks like on the map. That's about halfway up Section 8, so I'm pretty happy.

Making my first trip and going to stay downtown. Are there any bars or companies that run shuttles to the show? If not, I will Uber out there but I usually try to find a place to hang out for the surge to die down.

Looks like the Alpha Omega Pizza place is walking distance but it usually closes at 10. I wonder if we could get enough interest to convince them to stay open after the show and give us a place to walk, grab some post show food, and order an Uber after the initial rush?

I am not aware of any shuttles that run out to PNC from bars or private companies unless you rent one yourself. There isn't a whole lot in the vicinity, let alone within walking distance unfortunately. Now that the light rail actually runs from downtown to university, in theory you could actually walk from PNC to the light rail station right behind the university on Tryon St (~ 20 minute walk according to google) and take the train from there. But in reality the most convenient thing to do, in my opinion at least, is just to uber to/from downtown.

take the light rail from uptown (that's what they call downtown in charlotte) to the JW Clay/UNC Charlotte stop, then just uber from there. it'll be a 8 dollar ride on normal pricing, 16at most on surge.

not only is it much, much, much longer than a 20 minute walk (1 hour, 1 minute according to google), it is not a walker friendly path whatsoever. it's 55 mph highway the entire stretch between the light rail stop and the venue.

Fair point, I guess Google calculated wrong. It does definitely seem like it would be longer than a 20 minute walk the more I think about it, and you are right it's essentially a stretch of highway. Uber from the JW Clay light rail stop may actually be the easiest and most logical thing to do.

Yeah - that's probably what we'll do. Was more thinking about after the show trying to find a close place to hangout and let the rush die down.

If the JW Clay light rail stop and/or the train is packed out, you can wait on a slightly later train and easily walk over to Boardwalk Billy's, one of my old stomping grounds from college. Cheap drinks and a good time, though there will probably be a decent number of college kids there on a weekend night.

Ironically on one occasion there, I heard a live solo guitarist/singer play a killer rendition of #41.

I wish there were a tribute band around here. There was always one around in NY/NJ/PA. I've yet to hear of one coming to Charlotte.

Random, but how is Fort Mill? Thinking about moving to Charlotte in a few years and Fort Mill jumped out as decent suburb with lower housing costs and good schools.

It's amazing honestly. Been here over 4 years. Costs are definitely going up because it's so popular but still worth it imo. Schools are very good. Better than Charlotte. In Charlotte they can move you around when they redistrict. That's much less of an issue in Fort Mill.

Moving back and after about three trips, my wife decided that Ft. Mill was the winner, close to everything in Ballanyne without the cost.

We pulled sec 11E, would gladly buy 4 together under the roof if anyone is selling

Not sure about Charlotte but there’s one that comes to Charleston at least once a year. Dave Matthews tribute band is the name.
