Roadtrip to Charlottesville, VA

Hey everyone, I'm heading down to VA to see some friends in the Richmond area in March and I'm wondering, if I were to head to the Charlottesville area, are there any DMB sights or landmarks worth seeing? I know Trax is gone, and based on what I've read about Miller's it's not worth going out of your way to see. But I'd really like to go check C'ville out and see what's around.

If anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it.

And if this is a current thread somewhere sorry for being repetitive, but if you could link me to the old thread I'd greatly appreciate that.

Thank you to all.

I'd go to Miller's and have a beer, just to say you've done that. Also, you may want to check out the winery Dave owns...Blenheim Vineyards I believe it's called.

There are tons of threads about C'ville...try using the search engine and see what pops up. I think there's even a thread a couple pages back. Good luck with your search!

If you want to visit LeRoi's tombstone, it's at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Update from my trip to C'Ville (for anyone planning something similar).

Went to Miller's of course, ate lunch there. It was really a good meal for being bar food. We weren't expecting a lot so we were impressed. Funny thing was that the waitress was the one that started telling us about Dave being a bartender there, playing gigs there, etc. The crowd was a little rough looking but by no means trouble makers. Stole some matchbooks.

Went to Blenheim Vineyards, bought from wine. The hostess (wine dispenser? saleswoman?) was very nice, hooked us up with some good wine. Again, she offered to us that Dave Matthews is the owner before we could even mention anything. FYI it's not advertised from the main roads so bring a map or GPS or you may get lost. Seriously though, wine's pretty good there.

Other than that, wandered around UVA and the outdoor mall-type place where Miller's is. Nice time.
