Favorite Die Trying
Always loved this song, but haven't listened to it in a while. I believe my go to was always Live in New York City but wondering what everyone else's favorite officially released version is. Too many to make a poll.

A few years ago someone went through and did polls for damn near every song and the boards fav versions. I'm not sure if we could dig those up or not.
And to answer your question, every versions the best version

Hartford 2008 N1 is the one I keep going back to. No real reason why but I've always liked that one a lot since the show.
Charlotte 2019 was a great one that I saw in person. Dave singing on the outro like, "Don't you bury your head, and say you're hoping someone else will pick up you", "only gonna die, only gonna die one time, only gonna die once, you only gonna die once" Ha. |

I am so happy you started this thread, Thank you! I always listen to the Live in New York City and I think it's amazing... but I would not be opposed to auditioning some new versions. The horns at the end are what really drive it home for me on the New York City version.

Not a live release but this is my all time favorite. Of course i'm partial because I was there, but i've listened to 30 plus other versions and haven't heard Dave scat like this at the end. His energy is super high and scats much faster than normal. The energy they brought was amazing to close out the set. I appreciate Tim's solo as well. Dave certainly enjoyed it as you can see from the video.
