Bayou I can live with. Hunger is inexcusable.

When was the last time you threw on a pair of high fidelity headphones and immersed your ears in Hunger for the Great Light?

I tried earlier this summer when they first started busting out Stand Up tracks. That album is just as bad now as I remember it being 10 years ago.

Seven, Bayou, Cant Stop, Hunger run looks atrocious on paper and a nightmare attending.

The rest of the show looked decent I could live with that

That five song run including Seven, bayou, can't stop, hunger, and sam cop may be the worst I've ever seen. Everything around it looks...decent.

Re: Anyone else think these setlists are weak

I honestly don't care one bit what the band is playing at a show that I am not at. I was more than happy with the song selections and with the performances I saw this tour. This year was refreshing and extremely enjoyable. There are a bunch of talented musicians on that stage that put on a great show. I definitely missed the violin but I also have been missing the sax for the last 10 years as well. This is not the same band and hasn't been for the last 10 years. As long as they sound good...that is all I am going to care about going forward.

It makes zero sense to compare today to yesterday. It makes just as much sense as saying enjoy it while it is still here. To say so, sounds like even if it is bad you would still be going just because. If the music sounds good, you go, if it doesn't you don't. Seems real simple but I guess it is easier to see the bad in everything, complain, and still spend hundreds of dollars and your time on something that you clearly don't like. Almost seems like those people are going like the "just because" people but I am sure would be the first to call someone else out for saying...enjoy it while it last. A very entertaining bunch this is. Music is meant to be enjoyed. When you don't enjoy it anymore it is time to discover something new but doesn't mean you should stop discussing. Thankfully this tour did nothing but push me further away from that thought.

Certainly wasn’t the best but I accepted years ago some sets will be like that . I had not heard Hunger in awhile so that was ok. The band interaction and the overall fun they seem to be having does carry some weight with me too these days. It was a blessing to for the rain to have stiopped so we were happy no matter what because of it.

The set is easily is my bottom 20% but with things in my personal life between work and my moms health not the best these days , I was thankful for an overnight trip out with the Mrs and get away. We enjoyed ourselves . Last night did make me a little bitter WH denied us for SPAC.

No songs from Crash at DTE this year either, but a world of difference between the setlists.

I really don't understand the hate for Hunger. Sure its a pretty dumb song, but it's only a solid 4 minutes and has great energy. If I heard it at every show, sure I'd get frustrated, but hearing it every once and a while is pretty cool imo

I mean, sure, I'd rather hear my first Hunger in 5 years than my 17th Seven in 5 years, but it's still a terrible song and I'd rather hear a good song.

was at the show last night. music was not terrible at all by any means but man you could hear a pin drop in between songs all night because the flow was just awful and the crowd which wanted to party was given little reason to do so by the band. just a horrible read by the band on the long island crowd, who sat through rain during the tailgate and then watched the band deliver a display of their newest songs and songs from Stand Up/Big Whiskey while dangling little pieces of their first few albums in the air from time to time.

i didnt mind it because i find joy in all eras of DMB but i felt bad for my sisters and other friends in the crowd who i know just wanted to hear familiar songs and got by far the weakest setlist for the casual fan of the tour.

amazing that after the rainstorm all day and shockingly incredible weather, the setlist they delivered was standard AF

I think those are all songs the casual fan would/should be familiar with. Maybe Granny and Stay as well.

i agree with you minus funny/samurai but add granny and stay so 9 songs, or less than half the show.
and when the location of most of these songs is at the end of the show, sometimes it is just too little too late as it was last night.
the flow was brutal last night and after OSW, it didnt pick back up

You know a set is bad when casuals nor hardcores are interested whatsoever.

Im sure someone will come along and say you shouldve just enjoyed what they were playing anyway.

I try not to complain too much about set lists. If you check on the sets EVERY show (like I do) it's impossible for them to look fresh and unique. This band also still mixes their sets up way more than a lot of bands and I do appreciate the uncertainty of what will be played going into a show...

But, damn, Seven, Bayou, Can't Stop, Hunger is pretty awful. I find that time flies at DMB shows because I love being there but that stretch would have made me cringe a bit...

Why the hate for "Time Bomb" live? It's by no means my favorite song but I would not even put it close to "turd" territory like that four song run mentioned above.... I realize it's an opinion/personal preference thing but that surprises me to see.

For me its a very very boring song. The only good part live is the outro and thats just tim shredding, which isnt exactly my idea of a good dave matthews band song. I dont fully hate the song, its just one on that list of "I hope to never get at a show again".

I got Time Bombed out. Saw it (into Watchtower or Two Step) wayyyy too many times in 2010. A song that maybe had some potential that was never fully realized.
