Re: 2014/2015 NFL Season

but that's teh whole question. how much faith do you have in manning not doing something like tearing his quad next season? I don't have much, or at least, much less than I have that wilson will stay healthy

I can't put Matt Ryan ahead of him simply because of his almost complete lack of meaningful accomplishment, team or otherwise. The others are all correct.

Tearing your quad is a p serious injury.
It's not as if he has a history of leg ailments.
If anything you should be concerned about his neck instead.

old people get injuries where they didn't have injuries before. it's a defining trait of old people, actually

This is why this thread is unbearable when it comes to QB talk. There are like 5 great QBs, 5 absolute shit/still don't know QBs, and then there's everyone else.

so if Russell Wilson wins his 2nd Super Bowl in 3 years, he's still thrown in with everyone else?

In an NFL fantasy draft, how many players are picked before you get to him?

All players, knowing that the first 5 picks or so will no doubt be QBs.

Wilson's advantage is his legs obviously. Ryan can make every single throw and is much more accurate.
Team success or lack-thereof does not always reflect an individual's talent, which is often a skewed stance or opinion of lots of fans (not you; speaking generally).
But I do agree they both fall in the #6 to #9 range as far as QB talent goes.

It's easy (and wrong) to point to Julio and Roddy and say Ryan should win SBs.
But his OL has been poor and defense non-existent. With only a handful of pieces around him, the majority of QBs could only go so far. Very overlooked factors.
Example yes Luck is better and also had a better OL than Ryan, but with no run game and defense only so much "success" was/can be reached.

this comparison makes no sense, though.

2 SBs in 10 years is a lot different than a potential 2 SBs in 3 years.

I picked 5 as a completely arbitrary number, obviously it should be six, but Ryan and Romo aren't quite on the same level as the others.
