    Re: Offical SPAC 2004 Thread

Hey guys, i saw the news, I live in the area...not to say he's incorrect but I'm pretty sure the story is about how the NYC ballet will not be coming to SPAC this year. It is a disappointment to some, so probably more likely to be the story than DMB. Also I don't recall hearing anything about a big announcement, but I could be wrong. I will watch the news and tell you if I hear anything else.

    Re: Offical SPAC 2004 Thread

Well im guessing it is about the NYC Ballet

but if it was about concerts it would specifically be dmb....it would be all the concerts.

Is it me or did dmb put out the concert dates a little earlier?

    Re: Offical SPAC 2004 Thread

alright its definatly the ballet thats all theyre taling bout. It was a huge thing though for people of albany/saratoga, alot of people thought it would be about the concerts. Im still 100% sure that dmb will be at spac for the summer just because of people who work at spac and have stated that they will be back. If its anything different on the news ill let you all know

The NYC Ballet leaving SPAC (2005 season) was in the papers last week, unless Albany is well behind their own local news . . .

Thoughts of SPAC make my penis engorged with blood.

I've been hearing about how SPAC doesn't let performers advertise dates there until the venue releases the info. Is this true?

    Re: Offical SPAC 2004 Thread

    http://www.wten.com/Global/story.asp...4&nav=6uyML22I

"Hundreds of people showed up at the Saratoga Library to support the continuation of the NYC Ballet at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC). The supporters packed themselves into the community room in order to find a way for the ballet to continue its run at the Center.

SPAC started as a summer home for the NYC Ballet back in 1966, but now 39-years later the board says it is just too costly to support and voted to end the relationship after the 2004 summer.
However, those at the meeting say you cannot put a price tag on the arts.

The organizers discussed many plans to reinstate the ballet. They are circulating a petition in support of the NYC Ballet, which now has up to 3,000 signatures. They are also encouraging people to begin to buy tickets for the 2005 season. Plus, they are getting help from assemblyman Jim Tedisco who says the legislature had no idea SPAC was having trouble. Local leaders want to get the Saratoga City Council behind the "Assemblyman's efforts, pushing to get a resolution to reject the board's decision.

    There's the story . . . sigh . . .

I don't know, I think they will be playing at SPAC or they have a festival planned for that time. I just don't see them skipping SPAC or the lower NY region. But, as mentioned, ordering begins soon. If they are not announced then it is just going to cause all sorts of problems. Seems like they announced these tourdates a little early this year, perhaps so they can do ticketing for the festival? Who knows-certainly not me. I wasn't planning on hitting up SPAC this year anyway but I am very surprised they will not be playing there.

ordering series 1-4 won't be a problem. they've added shows on in the past and have just added an extra series. if spac were to be announced, it'd be in a whole new series.

I sure hope you're right. Why don't they just have the concert and have the stupid Ballet dancers guest on a song?
