I use this quote from Boyhood every time i go bowling with my 6 year old son

Mason: I wish I could use the bumpers... Dad: You don't want the bumpers, life doesn't give you bumpers.

I bet he rewrites the script. Can't see him completely abandoning the idea.

Damn. Lucky I don't eat much cantaloupe, ground beef, eggs, and lettuce.

Guess this problem isn't much better in Canada, although we do have a much smaller population.

The worst words in the English language. "Did you see that Documentary?"

    Always ruins everything.

I can't imagine it being his truly final film no matter what he says.

One of the films I attended with a couple other girls from the group was this experimental movie called Pine Flat. It was basically a series of 10 or so minute static shots of nature with a kid somewhere in frame or you could hear them in the distance. From my memory, in one of the shots you’re just watching a kid play a harmonica, in another a girl reading a book, and in the very first first shot was just a wintertime scene and you could hear a kid yelling off in the distance. The movie was 2.5 hours. We left within 30-40 minutes.

To this day, that is the only movie I have ever walked out of.
Amazing someone actually funded/produced something like that and that it MADE it to the festival. I'd be interested in knowing what doesn't get in. How bad is the really bad stuff?

Was extra disappointed when I saw Pitt was supposed to revise his role of Cliff Booth in this.

I've never watched A Clockwork Orange, but just listened to an interview with Malcolm McDowell and now, I'm curious. I've heard it's a pretty messed up movie. What's so messed up about it? Is it really that gruesome of a film?

It’s not really gruesome in terms of gore, but it does have an intense rape scene that doesn’t pull any punches.

And from a thematic angle, you’re following a protagonist who is an absolutely despicable, evil human being, but Kubrick also questions the ethics of his legal punishment. It’s a challenging film that asks uncomfortable questions about civilized society’s lust for vengeance.
