it's so short here, i have to hold on to every last second of every last day...so it's hard to balance the anticipation with all that other enjoying the moment schtuff.

So do we all have tickets for other shows pre-Gorge?

The Gorge has become the epitome for me now and eclipsed my enthusiasm for Mansfield this year, which is only 3 weeks away. (I know it will be fun anyway, just kind of knocked down a notch from other years, hehe)

    Funny the way it is.

Just to let everyone know, as of June 1, 2012, the sale of liquor has gone private so you will be able to pick up hard licks at any major grocery store and not have to look for a state run liquor store! Makes it easier!!!

nope. gorge is it for me for dmb...but we've got Tedeschi Trucks Band next month, and Jonny Lang with Buddy Guy in August to look forward to. Probably won't hit up too many other shows...must save money and become debt free.

Oh Bev Mo how I love thee! We had a friend in Cali that drove last year pick up all of the liquor from the BevMo. So. Much. Cheaper. A handle of Stoli for $21.99. Costco usually has pretty good prices too, especially on bubbles.

nope. state controlled. it just meant (and means for the next few weeks) an extra stop when out and about collecting supplies...but it was a serious pain in the ass, especially since i moved here from california, and i got rather used to buying my booze at safeway

Just try living in Pennsylvania. Not only do we have state run liquor stores, but we also have to buy our beer by the case at a beer distributor. It is still weird for me to go to another state and see beer and wine in the coolers in convenience stores

yes, HQ is right across the street from the Issaquah store, of course used to be in Kirkland. Costco is my favorite, great products, solid business model, and dedicated leadership. I once heard the president/founder speak, every year his wife and he dress up (gown and tux) and have hot dogs at costco for their wedding anniversary! On top of that, he promised that a hot dog and soda combo will never go above $1.50. They totally earned my respect at that presentation.

Making my first trip out to the Gorge this summer and trying to plan logistics. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions about what to do for hotels or anything like that? Coming into the area from Baltimore so I will only have a rental car with me and no camping gear. Thanks for any help. Also, feel free to PM me so this doesn't fill up the board. Thanks!

Yeesh - good luck with hotels. There's really nothing close to the venue. I'd start here:

    http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g5...on-Hotels.html

There are hotels in Ellensburg, too. I've never stayed at any of them (there's an annual Labor Day Rodeo in Ellensburg - so that kind of fills up the rooms pretty quickly).

If you're flying to Seattle - Ellensburg would be more on your way. If you're flying to Tacoma - Moses Lake would be more suited.

I'm sure you can find someplace decent. Just don't expect a 15 minute drive back to your hotel after the show.

And congrats on making the excursion!

Going to be putting in order for T-shirts. Make sure you get your pre-sales in ASAP to ensure you get the size and color you want. I will be hand delivering these at the Gorge, however you can pay extra to have them mailed out to you before hand. Any questions message me. http://www.toupstownusa.com/index.ph...port_the_cause

Thank for you the info! I appreciate it!
