same here. it seemed so far away when i got the tickets and i've been pushing everything off, and now its gonna be a mad scramble at the very last minute to get my car registered, new tires etc.. ridiculous. just ridiculous.

I think this may be the way for us as well, since we'd like to have a car there in addition to the RV monstrosity we're renting for the weekend. After some correspondence with the Gorge Website/Camping folk, here's the info I got:


Me: Hello, my family and I are coming to see the Dave Matthews Band for the entire weekend this year, and we are camping in the Premier camping. We've rented an RV to camp in, but were wondering if we would be permitted to bring a small car also to take day trips to the river, sightsee, etc? We would like to have something a bit smaller to take out during the day instead of driving the RV everywhere, but don't want to drive it all the way out there just to have it be turned away. We would be parking it immediately against the camper.

Gorge Info: If the RV is towing the car then there is no charge, but if you have to drive it into the campsite there will be an extra charge.

Me: Thank you. It would be driven in. How much would the charge be?

Them: The charge is going to be the same price as a camping spot is.

Bastards. I was naively hoping it'd be like a $20 extra fee or something. I guess if all else fails, we'll just skip the car and the sightseeing and just drink some more

there has been in the past a meet up at wild horse monument. but I also know alot of those people are taking the fun bus in. but since i'm not id still be down for a pre drivin meet up

ellensburg is a good place to stop on the drive, there's a fred meyer (a great one stop shop)...just please, on principle, don't shop at walmart. Fred Meyer is way awesome and has comparable prices.

Those who have never been to the Gorge and are wondering about the campground experience (General, not premiere) this highlight video from last year should help. This will be my 9th year in a row. Our group has grown to around 60 or 70 from the original 8 of us that came as naive 18 year olds in 2004. Just a nice video of the memories that were made and I release one every year to get our town/group excited for the coming year. 5 weeks out. Can't express my excitement for the BEST weekend of the year.
