they've been live streaming their entire second set from brooklyn bowl tonight on facebook.. last night they did it from the Cap, but it ended after two songs. idk if it's gonna go the whole set, but it's been an enjoyable 40 minutes

Cap shows were a blast. Lot of strong jams. Didn't get my Beacon tix yesterday but pretty hyped for those shows + New Haven. Should hit #50 at some point next year.

thanks, and i didn't think to look for anything on facebook. i was googling stuff at work (not supposed to be on FB at work, and i don't follow jeff) and nothing was coming up. not even UM's or Jeff's calendars/tour pages (ya know, the obvious places to look) mentioned him playing with UM.

Meh not big on it. It's basically a repeated stew they've done a bunch over the last few years and is pretty overproduced. I can see it getting some decent treatment live but not a favorite of mine. The tune they premiered today, Half Delayed, is better. Not super excited for the new album though honestly.

Went on Saturday the 30th and they crushed it as usual. They debuted a new song called Half Delayed which has potential, and the Joe Jackson cover was great. Waful had a new light setup with lasers that was really cool, probably my favorite display of his to date. Beacon run will be fun!

Listened to the NYE show on my ride home from a wedding the other day and thought it was great. One of the better NYEs they've done in a while. A lot of improv and great song selection. Beyond excited for the Beacon shows.

Caught a first listen of It's Not Us on Sirius Jam On the other day. I was skeptical after not being enthralled with the singles released, but I ended up really liking it. A good showcase of the crazy sonic diversity of the band.

3 nights of the Beacon, 20th anniversary show on Sunday and it happens to also be my 30th bday. Gonna be a helluva night. Did VIP for the occasion and will be 6th row orchestra for the whole run. So pumped.

I'm in front row loge all weekend. Presale was pretty cool in securing me pretty much the same seats. I forgot about the 20th Anny Sunday night. Baller

Had an awesome weekend. 3 nights capped with the 20th anniversary show on my bday, was just a great occasion. I loved the idea for the anniversary show and had a blast with it. Yea it was different and I understand why it's getting some flack for the lack of crazy bustouts and improv, but it was a sweet concept that showed their history well. To be really executed properly they needed 3 sets for it, but given the time restrictions I thought they did the best they possibly could fitting in 20 different tunes from the last 20 years. For being around 50 shows in I also got a nice number of firsts this weekend. Excluding the obvious new songs I caught my first Spires, Memories of Home, North Route, and No Comment. Excited for New Haven on Thursday.

Anyone going to Summer Camp? I’m going for the first time and it’ll be my first music Festival of that scale other than the caravan. I’m wondering if anyone one has useful tips?

This is probably the best lineup they've ever had so you're picking a great time to go. I wish I could make it.

Never been so can't tell you any overall fest tips, but do yourself a favor and convince your crew to see Mungion and Aqueous. Both are on the come-up sooooo hard. I'm an Umphrey's diehard and would rather see either of those two than UM right now.

    Mungion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrr_TufrFZ0

    Aqueous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHQGpv3vchs&t=284s

    Enjoy!

I actually have see aqueous in this tiny place in menasha wi. I had see there name associated with umphreys so I decided to check it out since they were coming so close to me and they were very awesome so I’ll definitely be seeing them. The problem with that is they play at 2am and I’m feeling pretty old lately so that may be tough to make. I plan on trying though. That other band I’ll be sure to check out too. Thanks for the suggestions. There’s a lot to sift through.
